IOS 9.2 released with problems?

Not entirely, after 4 hours of my time spent with Apple and Verizon technical support and driving to the Apple Store, I didn't care much at that point. I received a follow up call the next day from Apple and they were pretty sure it was a problem on their back-end and that it was now resolved...

I lost all cellular connectivity with the update, huge pain in the ass. Apple ended up giving me a new phone (Apple Care).

Thunderbolt Monitor = paper weight in a few years?

I've been thinking of ordering a Thunderbolt Monitor to go with my MBPr. However, after this Thunderbolt-less Macbook came out I realized that maybe Thunderbolt isn't Apple's future and it would suck to have them drop support for Thunderbolt in 2-3 years. Would make the monitor worthless...

Is retina MBA coming next week?

Completely agree on the notebook side. On the tablet side, I'm actually hoping for less weight, personally I find even the Air 2 gets a bit awkward with one hand where as the weight of the Mini is about right.

Apple finally fixing 2011 MBPs.

Common issue at our office. 3 out of 3 early 2013 MBPr have all had this issue, fortunately our IT guy stuck them in a closet, we'll be taking advantage of this repair program even though we all have mid 2014 MBPr now.

Best workaround for Google pulling Exchange ActiveSync?

App recommendation: Vesper (for note-taking)

Looks nice at first glance. Evernote drives me nuts with its constant reformatting of text. Problem is I need the Mac version more than I need the iOS version.

:( That must be why the restore can't make it just work. Now to figure out what to do... switch to Microsoft or Apple or just put up with 15 minute polling. Not using the Gmail App, like having the unified mailbox.

Is there absolutely no way to carry Gmail Active Sync over from my iPhone 5 to iPhone 6? I did an encrypted backup / restore and pretty much everything came over correctly except Gmail just doesn't seem to work on my iPhone 6 now :( Google :(

Ended up getting an unlocked 128GB Silver iPhone 6 direct from Apple. I was only planning on getting the 64GB one but the ship-time wasn't until Oct 8th or something, so I figured what the hell, should have mine on Sept 19th :)

Quick question, any of you guys going to grab one of the Apple leather or silicone cases? If so,leather or silicone or think they neither? I've always run with a naked phone but with the lens ring sticking out, I'm thinking a really thin case might not be that bad.

Easiest way of migrating everything from old iphone 4S/5 to Iphone 6+?

iCloud pricing seems semi reasonable now, was a complete rip-off last time I looked. I wish they'd let you pay by the year like iTunes Match. Just let me pay $12 or a discount of $10 per year for 20GB.

No overly impressed as well. I wonder how much of this soft-release was pressure from shareholders, board of directors on Tim Cook to get a new product out. What Steve Jobs would have done different than Tim Cook ... he'd have told investors to fvk off and he'll release what he's going to...

I think the key word is "only" which isn't the case. The dGPU is used when you plug in an external monitor. It kicks in when you start a VM, apparently VMWare doesn't like to have switchable graphics so it just turns the dGPU on and leaves it on. I'm sure there are other cases when the dGPU...

Apple, your integration of SMS/MMS/iMessage sucks. Either fix it or separate them.

Sounds frustrating, can't say I've ever had any problems like what you describe. iPhone to iPhone I personally like PhotoStream if it's more then a couple of photos. Are you doing iPhone to Android (which used to be an iPhone?). It's actually confusing reading what has happened exactly...

Friend dropped iPhone 4s in water

Just call Apple, they'll replace it with a new one, my buddy ran his 4S through the washing machine. He had a new phoned UPS next day, handed the UPS guy his old phone, done. $200 and change with the express cross ship option. I also helped my gf get a replacement, she dropped her 5 and broke it.

iPad is too heavy

Agreed I love my iPad 4 but it is a bit to heavy, I hope they can slim it up and reduce the weight in future versions. I may try out an iPad mini in the future (with retina) I played with one and loved the weight/feel. It's interesting how people praise Jobs as if he was the god of Apple...
