For NV, I'd use some moded BIOS, Skyn3t ones are usually great. He usually takes more care of the Classy and Kingpin ones. That's what I did when I had a Classy (but I didn't watercool so it wasn't as important).

A friend of mine got 20 TRI-X cards for mining, and had to return 4 of these, only for fan issues. Now, one of those returns ended up being really bad, but that's another issue :)

Interesting. I know they (and many other manufacturers) had an issue in 2010. When I was working as a PC tech, we had lots of these coming. NV used cheaper TIM IIRC and many motherboards died, or just the GPUs. One way of fixing those was cooking the boards in the oven :)
