    Fair point. Fan noise never bothers me until the card is getting to the end of it's life. Then it really picks up the noise.

    Historically though? I never paid attention. I just build to play a specific game and it lasts me about 4 years until I need to think about replacing the graphics card then I buy one that will play the next graphically intensive game I'm anticipating. Last time it was Crysis 3.

    It really depends on the type of network you have I would look at IDS/IPS logs if it's not a home network. Proper securing of DMZs and firewall rules that reject private addresses is another.
