I was planning on setting up a backup drive, but does it matter whether or not its inside the system connected via SATA or outside connected via USB? from a reliability standpoint.

That RAM will not fit with the x52. x52 has 35mm of ram clearance while the ram is 44mm or taller. For some bigger builds this isn't an issue if your not populating all ram slots, but for mitx the tubing will get in the way of the closest slot.

I try to run a high quality (no potatoes) stream on my 4770k and it might be passable with csgo if I stand still but during action it gets very bad. Then there are more intensive games like gta and blade and soul which just look horrible or my game runs horribly during the stream.

Sure it's the only thing available right now, but then any reviewer comparing the Fury X to an aftermarket Ti should include * everywhere and also mention that the cheapest AIO NVidia card is $100 more than the Fury X.
I think NVidia screwed AMD price-wise, but $650 for 980 Ti performance with a AIO water cooler isn't so disappointing. Sure a aftermarket 980 Ti OC will beat the Fury X by 10-15 fps but it will also run hotter, dump all the heat into the case and will be at least $30 more.

Small update.
Messed around with afterburner. These results successfully ran FireStrike Extreme and haven't (yet) crashed playing GTA 5 for a couple of hours.

GTA 5 is ultra everything (except grass), dsr @ 4k, txaa/msaa/fxaa/aa16 etc...
It is overclocked using the built in "OC mode" which is very minimal.

Unless I am doing something majorly wrong while overclocking and ASIC quality doesn't mean anything, I think I just got a lemon.
