Roku vs. wi-fi blu-ray

I wouldn't count on a Blu-Ray player to reliably stream from Netflix. The built-in wifi may have problems with persistent connections, and manufacturers have been known to release updates which break working features. If they did break Netflix through an update, you could expect another 3-6...

What is the best site to find tires for your car?

We put some Continental ExtremeContact DWS's on our 07 M35. Huge driving comfort improvement over the stock Bridgestone RE050A's. I found these on the recommendations from Tirerack's site, but bought from a local Discount Tire.

Hypothetically, if you made a series of bad choices... what then?

Pay the car off and drive it until it completely falls apart. Rebuild your credit using tools with less destructive power. Low limit gas/department store cards maybe.

Thinking about having my car painted matte black

Anytime I see a matte finish car, I assume the owner ran out of money before he could spray it. I always think maybe they got the primer on before they realized how expensive a good paint job is.

Need Tires: What Do You Recommend?

We just put on a set of Continental Extreme Contact DWS. I would definitely recommend them. These replaced a set of Bridgestone RE050A's. We don't drive hard, but I haven't noticed any performance degradation with the swap. Wet weather traction is better, and road noise is greatly reduced...

I'd get the TL. The G is faster and more "fun" when you want it, but the TL is a nicer ride for commuting.

I think you should absolutely be looking at the used car market as well. $70k will buy you alot of new car, but could buy you an insane amount of used car.

Narrowed my Used car search down to two cars.

How about a late model Focus, Elantra or Sentra with less than 40k miles? Break the cycle . . . Honda's and Toyota's are nice, but do you really want a car with 100,000 miles? What year was your Focus, and how many miles were on it when you sold it? Why did you sell it?

What interest rate would you expect from dealer financing with no credit?

Before we got married, my wife had no credit and tried to buy a car on her own (new Accord from the local Honda dealer). The lowest we could talk them to was 12.5% with a "ghost" history. My local CU gave her 5.9% with me as a cosigner. This was late 2005. I've no idea what to expect...

Completely overlooked the post where you stated your wife wants an Evo. I'd add an Audi A4 to the list after that. I would personally buy a bigger car with more luxury and a more forgiving ride. You could each swap for the STI when you wanted the fun factor.

That could be, and many of the cars didn't look to be in bad enough shape to be "broken down." I just didn't find the conditions all that poor. Maybe the roads were worse at night.

Lease damage repair

There is no special reason to let the lease company know about it. You will need to have a quality repair performed, and it will be assessed by the dealer. Since it isn't your fault, this isn't a big deal. I would just let the dealer body shop handle the repair since the other guy's insurance...

Alternatives to WRX

I didn't see if you are only looking at new cars, or if they can be "new to you." The Saab 9-2x is a rebadged Impreza Wagon. Look for an 06 with Aero package for the turbo. Insurance might be less with the Saab branding.
