    No idea, the only thing I changed when I loaded everything was the boot order, IIRC. I did have to install the Promise driver before it would see IDE3 though.

    I am, I just bought one, actually. Current: IDE1 - empty IDE2 - DVD + CDRW IDE3 - 30GB IDE HD SATA1 - 160GB Hitachi SATA drive (this is the boot drive) I have the 30G drive on there just so I can copy stuff off if it, then it will go away.

    If you are buying now, go with a A643000, use the money you save towards a gig of RAM. Upgrade to a A64-4000 when AMD quits making s754 chips - should be cheap then. I went with a very similar system, but got the Hitachi SATA drive - based on its outstanding reviews at storagereview.com.

    <sobs> When did that change? Why didn't the nomenclature change along with it? My board spec said "ATX PS", I had an ATX PS, seemed reasonable to assume that I was fine. Do I need a completely new PS, or can I simply get a connector to convert one of the existing connection?
