I would go with my 7970 GHZ but my 780TI classified @ 1350 MHZ would be a strong second. Sure I paid a lot for it but at 1440P no other card has shown much of a improvement. At least in the games I play. Likely keep it another year or so.
Why would AMD have to pay anything? They purchased a cooler from coolermaster. Coolermaster should be on the hook. If intel got sued for the same scenerio, would all PC manufacturers be held liable? If the Bose speakers in my friends car infringed on another copy rights would...
Why do you think the 7970 is going to only be worth $40 next year? I mean, I hope so. That would be fun project to 3 or 4 way CF for under $200. IMO the 7970 will still bring 100 USD here in the states. I sold my 5770 that was like 6 years old for $75 on craigslist not long ago.
AMD pretty much fixed the stuttering issues. It might not be the best solution but another 7970 used would be cheap and accomplish many of your goals. At least until newer cards come out and we start to see more advanced games. Doubt you would lose much money in the next year or so as the...
Anyone have luck finding a DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 that will support 4K at 60hz? I could move the PC to the living room where I have the 65 inch top tier 4k set.
That is really super lame. The 780ti classy can already push over 60fps in most games. I bought the fury x to get closer to 120 fps... Guess I'll go back to the 780ti and sell the fury x :( epic fail AMD and me for not doing my homework
What cable so I need? Pulled my 780 to classy and installed the fury x. Just realized I have no adapter. The dual link cables are 140$. What else will work? 1440p @120hz
Anyone clocked a fury or better yet a fury X? I picked up a used one for $420 and was trying to figure out what gains I will see over my 780TI thats still sitting at the second fastest card on the results list.. Can the OP also update the results?
The Qnix monitors say in big bold letters that they do not work with integrated GPU. They even list out compatible GPU's. You bought an expensive monitor. Go buy a 100 GPU to make it work
Obviously it varies by game and Valley is only a synthetic benchmark. My 780TI classy benches (1080 I know) above any 980 or 290X in our local benchmarking thread. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KehZ017ZO9SztZj6NOAjtxHaqfVnGmD2q0CGV7dCfS8/pub?single=true&gid=0&output=html
Have not...
Found a few saved benches. When I first purchased it 1490 was my best on stock clocks. I eventually got over 1700 before the Nvidia Nerf Ninja showed up one night..
HDMI cables are cheap. They make life a lot easier than the old RCA and speaker wires setup.
The thing that sucks about HDMI also plagues DP. No content.. No devices. No market. My 65 Samsung 8550 is supposed to be one the best 4k TV you can buy. The only connection is ARC to AVR...
Spent 1800 on a asus rog w 970m. Was able to nicely OC it for a couple months then after a driver update the sliders disappeared. I tried several diff apps but could not get it to work. This is a 20 pound laptop that stays plugged in For gatage play. Figured it was me but I suspected Nvidia...
Check out our own valley thread. These scores are all 1080P on extreme (maxed). Where is the 7870/270x? I have a 970M in my new laptop and it struggles with many games. Its benches the same as a 7950. Also many are moving to higher refresh rates. My laptop is 75hz. To average 75 fps I...
Correct. They don't fully support HDMI 2.0 spec. only 10 GHZ bandwidth compared to almost 20. On one hand there is no 4k player available yet. Everything is processed in the TV. If I don't get full 4k support I should just get any decent reciever and skip passing through video.
I think 6.7 would be max clearance. Once inside the cabinet it opens up but the trim work is blocking at least an inch in front and back. 6.7 could breath if I could get it to slide in. Might have to remove the legs to get it in then reassemble once inside.
Large living room open to kitchen and dining room. Arpx 6000 CF.
TV: UN65HU8550
Mostly movies but would love to hook up a turntable. I am not a hardcore sound guy. I do have a pair of DT990's with a vacuum tube amp with a small FLAC collection.
Had a home theater guy who is also a friend...
My 780 TI classified is on air and puts about +300 on that Valley bench. I run a 4770K @ 4.4 gHZ with 16 GB RAM. I dont think swapping the cards into other rigs will have much of a difference.
Like Stuka said, HDMI wont support 1080 @ 120hz. Also all the Korean monitors state they wont work iGPU and that you need a modern GPU with DVI-D(Dual Link)
The main driver behind 4K is to correct that. With 1080P you cant buy a 70 inch TV unless you sit waay back. If 4K ever becomes standardized (more content) you can sit 5 feet away from the TV and the picture will remain crisp. Depending on viewing distance but I would say anything over 60...
My 7970 was doing pretty well a couple years ago. Wish my 970M would perform that well. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AsZYCRfaEtgPdHZwWEJTM0s5ay1NbjQ2UWZQUDZ0dVE&single=true&gid=0&output=html
The sad truth is the 900 series is all about efficiency and HDMI 2.0 for a select few 4K users. Once overclocked the cards efficiency drops off. A highly OC'd 780 or 780ti is still the fastest GPU you can buy.
Need a gaming laptop that I can also hook up to the 4K set. I know the 970 and 980 support 4K and hdmi 2.0 but cant find a manufacturer that has put one into a laptop.
Some are better than others. I see crappy Win RT tablets with a keyboard at high level business meetings. They do have office so I guess they are functional in that respect.
Sounds like you need a tablet. Will likely end up with a better abeit smaller screen. The activities you listed would be smooth as butter. Is the laptop actually used for anything that requires the extra weight , heat, and power consumption?
1. Yeah Im sarcastic. Im 110% in agreement with him.
2. When you buy a $$$ monitor, build a high end rig, throw in 2 of the fastest GPU's on the planet then OC it till its starts to melt.. people tend to expect MAXED. I could have saved a ton and ran games on medium. Could use my ps3 or ps4...
