It seems fake , i mean it's a huge core . Doubling so many parts must require A LOT of transistors . 32 nm to 28 nm can't possible give them enough space . It's either this , and 2 module at most in an APU OR a design much closer to Piledriver , otherwise i can't image an APU with 3 modules ...
Conroe was as much as 60% faster than Netburst . I mean seriously , there are so many thing wrong and out of place about Bulldozer/Piledriver that it's impossible not to squeeze out 20% ....
It's important to keep in mind what GCN is as an architecture ( and it's role in HSA ) . It's main advantage is compute . IMO , this explains the slower x86 based processor . They are betting on leveraging parallelism aka what HSA is basically about , so yeah it pretty much is what AMD...
