These bad boys push and are the undisputed heavyweight of computer speakers. Unfortunately they at 100W (real, RMS watts) and $500 they too expensive and too specialized for the mainstram market, but everyone who tested them agreed they were the best sounding, loudest speakers ever made for a...
StonyThug...good audio doen't really date. It's not like newer speakers are faster or have more memory - the signal source has gotten better for cheaper just lately (digital, DVD but the only new technology in speakers is to add more (5.1) and flat panels, and we all know they don't sound good...
From the looks of this http://www.3dsoundsurge.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000856.htmlthe Midiland 8200's are..OK sounding. I kind of like the look of them, not the usual computer grey, although again you have to consider that the (front) sats will probably sit next to your monitor, and the sub is...
You say "just don't put them 3 feet from your head". No offense, but where else would they go? It would seem that the obvious place for computer speakers is on the desk in front of you, 3 feet from your head. I know that the horn tweeter is Klipsch's trade mark, but it just seems to be...
I heard that the Klipsch have massively over-exagerrated bass, and no midrange. From what I understand, the best application of horn-loaded tweeters is air raid sirens. They are normally only used to fill a huge space, like a stadium.

I have the PF 790 double flat and I love it. I paid around $500 six months ago and it was worth every penny. If you have the desk space (it's not short neck) I would reccommend it.:D
Can anyone suggest good speakers? I've been looking at Diamond Audio's S2/4100 which they have on sale for $199 (http://www.diamondaudio.com/promedia/prod_frameset.html) but it's a 2.1 and I'm not sure if I need surround sound. I use them mainly for music. Any suggestions?
I was reading diamond's reviews page http://www.diamondaudio.com/promedia/test_frameset.html and it seems that the 4100 was their design, and MidiLand re-badged it and sold it under license. Either way, the reviews are amazing
Diamond Audio are having a big sale on their speakers: The 4100 for $199 ($599 retail) and the 3025 for $50 ($80 retail). Seems like a good deal...
