Which AGP video cards for LCD?

if you're running vista32, there's no reason to go higher than 2GB. while vista32 can technically address 4Gb memory, due to how it "sees" it and how it's allocated to the system, only about 2.7GB are useful. however while some of the memory above 2Gb is useable, you're likely going to hurt...

meh.. cut him some slack. keys' role as mod should be based solely on his actions in that role, nothing else. as Extelleron mentioned above, he's always leaned a bit more toward nvidia, so why does it make any difference now? too many ppl are spending way too much effort ranting about...

i think you guys should get a life. unless/until this percieved "conflict of interest" becomes a problem, it should be a non-issue, and keys should be judged based on his track record here, and not by a bunch of people huddled around trying to think of ways this may become a problem.

apop.. you're wrong, plain and simple. multiple reviews contradict you. the 2900 is loud; maybe not loud to you, or as loud as your last 5 cards, but loud relative to other gfx cards available today (and as a 2900 owner pointed out in this thread already, louder than his x1950xt's were)...

this happens in WoW when AAA is used... not sure on latest drivers as i haven't played it in a few months. no. ati doesn't really have an equivalent to an 8800GTX. it's last generation, and offers similar performance to say.. a 7900GT.. albeit a bit better overall.

Any 8800 users having trouble displaying 640x480?

sure it can play it; just not in the proper aspect ratio for a 4:3 screen. further, it's a 9 year old game.. the problem isn't the high end graphics card(s), but the games lack of WS support. just plug in a 4:3 monitor and the "high end" graphics cards will display it just fine.

weird.. i haven't had an issue. i've only played thru the very first campaign tho (since the patch i no longer show my save games), so it's not as if that's conclusive, but all in all, i've never found an RTS as 'unplayable' or 'poorly playable' averaging 30fps. Crysis or some other FPS...
