"]WD My Passport Edge 500GB is probably the cheapest external HDD from WD I guess because that's the cheapest here in our country and that costs a little over $60 here. I would personally get a bigger capacity HDD because 500GB isn't that big enough these days.
A friend of mine is running VM as well and I think he has Kingston HyperX 240GB. I'm not sure if this is the best SD for running VMs but I guess that could work. I'm using _2.5_'_'_SATA3_Solid_State_Drive"]Samsung 840PRO but I don't run VMs but I bet this could also run VMs.
Honestly, I still would recommend manual driver updates because it is the safest way to update drivers. However I would still recommend ones that ones that I have used before.
If you do not want to spend, SlimDrivers is what I could recommend. If you have some spare money for this then you...
I still wasn't able to find a working free converter for this job to be done so I settled with a paid one. Try Xilisoft Video Converter. Converts all media files. Been using it for so long and has never failed me.
Try using the cooler in a different laptop. If the sound is also present there the cooler is the cause. If it doesn't then probably it's your laptop. Usually this buzzing sound could just be the spin of your hard disk OR maybe the spin of the fan of your cooler.
Take a look at HP Spectre XT Pro mate. This has everything that you are looking for. Breakdown of specs:
Intel i7-3537U 2.0GHz (Up to 3.1GHz Turbo Boost, 4MB Smart Cache)
13.3" LED HD BrightView (1366 x 768)
Integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000
4GB RAM upgradable to 16GB

I can see that you are clinging towards refurbished laptops. Basing on the price, it is almost less than 30% the price of the brand new HP ProBook 4340S in one online computer store in Australia. That made me think how good the condition of the unit is in such a low price.
If you make me...
I'll have to say Skyrim because it's the better choice compared to the only other TES game I played which is Oblivion. Yup I only played 2 games from TES and I enjoyed Skyrim more and the memories of the game is still fresh because I just finished it earlier this month. :)
I think you can limit FPS of your games from the preferences or settings of the game itself. Try to explore the settings of the game you are playing and see if there is a option where you can set the maximum fps for your game.
If there is none, you can try this software Dxtory. You can google...
Diablo was my first RPG and it was like heaven before even if the graphics isn't that good. I love the storyline and the characters. I first used Barbarian but when I already gained knowledge about the game, I quickly changed my character to Paladin. Suits my personality well. :)
Are you referring to Nuance Dragon software? Well I checked that already and it is indeed a wonderful software though it is very expensive IMO. So I settled with http://speechtotextservice.com/ and spend just around $10 for a 6 minute audio to text conversion.
Thanks for those who cared to...
I know there are a lot of transcriptionist out there but I'm just wondering if there is such a software that would readily convert my audio lectures into written texts? I do some lectures once a week and I would like to have a copy of what I'll be talking about and give copies to the listeners...
Thanks mate! Yes I am leaning towards the HP actually. However another HP product caught me while I was browsing a while ago. I considered this because they almost have the same specs yet I could save around $200. So in a way I would get a cheaper HP laptop with almost the same specs. HP Envy...
Hi guys! So after being stuck with my MSI EX465 for almost 4 years now, I finally have gathered enough funds to buy a decent laptop. I wanted to buy an Ultrabook (light and thin) because I would carry it around with me almost all the time in the university and in the hospital (medicine student)...
I think this means a lot. Though a CPU upgrade could be possible, I;m not willing to spend much time figuring out how could this be possible. I just tried installing and playing some games to this laptop (currently using it now while I'm posting this) and it handled FIFA13 pretty well in medium...
Thanks dma0991. I'm not actually be the one to install an SSD. I have to send this laptop to a shoe and let them do the work. I just would want this Samsung 840 Pro to be the SSD because of pretty good feedback it has gotten lately.
Thanks. I have no problem playing FIFA13 in medium settings or even in low settings.
I'm considering now to get an SSD for this laptop. Could these SSDs be a good fit? http://www.lmc.com.au/catalog/Hard_Disk_Drive_and_Enclosure/Solid_State_Drive/Samsung/
I bought Samsung 840 Pro last month...
It's more of functionality. My brother wants to play somegames with this laptop. Some games in mind would be FIFA 2013, DoTA2 and NBA2k13. With this CPU plus a nVidia GM510 512MB dedicated graphic card and 4 GB RAM, do you think it could play this games on medium setting?
Thanks for your fast reply guys. Well I guess have to consider getting an SSD. @dave_the_nerd is right. Its cpu is the weakling of the specs. It has a GM510 GeForece dedicated graphic card and 4 GB RAM. The speed actually is pretty good. It's juts that you still feel like you are using an aold...
I know this is quite an old laptop. It isn't mine. It is my dad's and he doesn't use it now so my younger brother would like to use it but he's worrying about the CPU of this which has only CORE 2 DUO P9300 2ND GEN 2.3GHZ DUALCORE PROCESSOR. So we decided that if it is possible, we would want to...
Probably Samsung, MSI, ASUS or Toshiba. THese are the one that I could recommend. On a specific unit, I could not recommend any since you didn't state how much are you willing to spend. Haswell laptops are coming on the 3rd quarter (hopefully) so you might just wait for them to be out.
I would get a more powerful PSU like somewhere between 700-900W. I'm not sure ho much would you add for that but I think that it is something that could benefit you in the long run. Solid build anyway. :)
Oh and a 120GB SSD I guess would be something that you would also consider but that would...
Well if you are not really thinking about a bunch of upgrades (RAM, CPU and GPU), then you could start in your RAM. Obviously Adobe Premier is a demanding software so a 4GB RAM is just enough, Adding another 4GB stick should free some space in your memory and I guess would give a boost in your...
Thank you for the fast reply. Well if I consider what you said, then HP would have the advantage because they would have cheaper ink.toner prices. The website that sells HP also has driver support while I can't find something about it on Amazon talking about that Canon printer. Maybe I will find...
I'm buying a printer and this is subject for heavy usage. I am a student and would print a lot of handouts and documents for research almost everyday, my mom works at an office and would also print 100 pages several times a week, my brother also is printing his ebooks instead of getting the...
Well brand new HP laptops are good and worth the money IMO but I would not think the same on refurb HP laptops. I would always find through various users on the internet about their junk refurb HP laptops so I won't take the risk if I were you. However if you could get it on a much lower cost...
If I Were to choose between the G500 and G9x, I would go with G9x maybe because I like the design better. I have the G600 and I'm in no thinking of getting G9X but I have tried it when I purchased the G600 and frankly I was puzzled what to buy. I chose G600 primarily because it is on sale that...
Every team who has stepped up against the Heat will eventually gain fans left and right. The thing with Indiana is that they are throwing back answers to each win by the Heat. Of coarse they can do that because they have the talent and the personnel.
Game 7 will be one hell of a game but if the...
This is exactly what happened to me. However my PC isn't that old. It was just a year old desktop PC but I chose to leave XP on it for the idea that Windows 7 would just slow down my PC especially that I was playing a lot of games (I only have 2GB RAM and 1GB GPU). However when I found out last...
I'm sorry if you got irritated in dealing with this question over and over again. I just want to be sure because this is my 1st build and the 1st computer to have SSD. I don't really want to bother you with this but I'll be happy for others to have their opinion. Thanks.
I'm getting this! I was so impressed with my friends SIII mini and I said that once S4 mini comes out, I would get myself one. I am not realy a fan of big screen mobiles so this mini versions are my choice.
Help guys to those who are experts on SSD. I never had a PC with SSD so in my 1st build, I will try to install OS on a dedicated SSD. Right now I am stuck wtih two brands in my head. It's between Samsung and Kingston. Why? Because these are two brands that has the cheapest 120GB SSD right here...
Hi guys! I'm sorry I'm offline for a while. So yes I am from Australia and I have to deal with more overly-priced hardware than those in US or Canada but I am not thinking about purchasing outside of the country for shipping and warranty issues.
So by the looks of things here, I think that I...
Hello guys! I'm trying to search on some CPUs and hopefully I will be able to build my 1st gaming rig at the end of June. So far these two CPUs are getting much of my attention:
"]Intel CORE i7 3770K
Processor: Intel Core i7
CPU Number: 3770K
Processor Speed: 3.50GHz
Cache: 8MB
Price...
I think LoL and Diablo3 on low video settings could is playable with those specs.
You could also try some old versions of Need For Speed like NFS2 or NFS Carbon. :D
Angry Birds and Plants vs Zombies! :D
Hmmm this looks pretty cool to look at with all that specs. I think this is a good tablet for basic use. But of course it would not beat branded tablets. I think it's Mali GPU would not suffice for gaming purposes. I haev a friend who also owned a Chinese tablet with Mali GPU and it does not...
If you are just into display then a MAcBook Pro is what I would recommend. I would also lean towards ultrabook if you are for design, portability and performance. Toshiba Satellite or HP Envy are the ultrabooks that I would want to have if I have cash. :D
