Internal memory seems way faster in internal reads, which I'd say is a bit more important. Also, his/my samsung card is pretty much the fastest in random read/writes for a microSD card, other cards being 2-10x slower.

Transcend Class 10 or Class 10 UHS-I microsdhc??

It depends on the individual card. Look for benchmark scores like CrystalDiskMark. More phones in the future may support it, so if the benchmark difference in a non-UHS device is close, pick the UHS card

Do you have links to a benchmark? I'd like to see it with sequential and random read/write, 512B and 4K... Ah, that is surprisingly terrible. For UHS-1 cards, I assume they will still work slow in non UHS-1 compatiable ports? What phones have UHS-1? I chose a faster non UHS-1 microsd...

How does the Note II hardware stack up today?

High end hardware from a couple years ago still is pretty overkill for most people. The S-Pen for me is the biggest draw to the Note series, much more than the big screen.

Taking pictures with an iPad

There's nothing wrong with it. The best camera is the one with you, and if they have their iPad out, then it's the best one. Of course, most of them do take pictures of crap and not any artistic ones, but that's besides the point. The point is that it looks funny.

Anyone try a Yongnuo flash?

I use their manual flashes and they are amazing yet somehow so inexpensive. Pretty strong power and a ton of steps. Since I have a Pentax, I can't try out their non-manual flashes

Zoolz scams people who signed up for their accounts.100GB of free cloud storage

For backup, it's best to have it in more places. For everyday usage, depending on the person, the cloud can be much better than local drives. Particularly if you use mobile devices or devices on different networks. There is an android app for zoolz, though the reviews look interesting.

NEC's liquid-cooled smartphone: Gimmick?

So can I, that wasn't my point. I said for me, the difference hardly matters, for my most content and use cases. For videos, compression level matters way more. Also, the Note 2 is 267 DPI. One area it could be useful for me is desktop real estate with per-app DPI and multitasking.

Sure that's one use of extra hardware (and use battery life), but anything around 300 dpi is more than enough for me.

Cooling phones is hard, this can allow much better hardware... but honestly, mobile fans are fast enough as it is. Battery life and software need to catch up. Also, I'm curious about ruggedness?

It's my understanding that the Nexus4 has an LTE modem, but not an an amplifier(or antenna?) so it won't work nearly as far away from a LTE tower.

Battery, or at least user serviceable battery. I like to keep my phones a while, and after a couple years, the capacity gets significantly worse. Removable is pretty nice though for being able to go from 0 to 100% instantly, instead of having to wait for it to charge, even if you have access...

Buying a used Note 2, how do I prevent getting scammed?

Pretty nice idea and would at least deter all stolen sales. But out of curiosity, if it was stolen (not yet reported) and the seller did this, what would happen when the original owner tries to report it?

Finally saw a Windows Phone in the wild

My hardcore geek friend uses one because while he loves the customizability of Androids, he just wants a phone where he isn't enticed to spend a lot of time to tweak. Having just come to android and spending a lot of time with different roms and settings, I'm starting to see where he's coming...
