AMD Polaris Thread: Radeon RX 480, RX 470 & RX 460 launching June 29th

At first i was going to make a big post in favor of the 480 but . On the end of the day i cant pay $600 or $400 for a gpu, so if they give me more performance on my budget i will buy it, so if they give me ultra @ 60hz i will buy it

so far NVIDIA havent showed any advantages on VR the simultaneous multi-projection, seems like a tech that doesnt decrease lag betwen frames, so you are going to get dizzy faster than whit AMD implementation

yes that means 390 performance for the masses but no higher perf for the top end, but at least AMD will bring some arch refinements, NVIDiA PR only have pushed fp16 and VR DIRECT,

If i could find a setting on ashes where it tank performance for one gpu brand, then i will say , yes this game is biased. Gears of War dev hidde the gameworks code (HBAO+ gimpworks code) . No release info just bang there is, no annunce no nothing i wonder why is that. dx9 game engine...

well about that i have doubts, to me that seems like one of the reasons gameworks exist´s, according to their PR they only have NVLINK and mixed precision, mixed precision is something AMD already have pushed, and whit NVLINK you have to buy a new mobo, so to me pascal seems more like Maxwell...

just a side note about async compute on other game "The Tomorrow Children" http://fumufumu.q-games.com/archives/TheTechnologyOfTomorrowsChildrenFinal.pdf they go from 33 ms to 27 ms by using async around 20% and that is a game that only targets GCN arch (PS4)

i think the problem is the routing 1024 pins per stack 1024 * 4 = 4096 traces now double that and you get 8192 traces, that have to be routed in a 70mm x 70mm square and probably also doubling power consumption

is skimping if you compared to the previus arch, sacrificing DP to hit better FPS, to most that doesnt matter but for some of us does matter,i like to use the full chip, compute + graphics, anyway that is offtopic
