You can't expect magic from a case, although r4 if a darn good case for those things.
If You want a really silent computer, here's the deal:
1. CPU - Thermaltake Venomous X Silent Edition
2. GPU - SCS3 7850 or Asus GTX 670 DirectCU II
3. Hard drives - SSD and/or WD red on Noisemagic Novibes...
it's my fault really, i haven't read the post quite well. the price of used components will always fall when a new technology appears. Of course, since haswell isn't much of a leap, it will drop slower than usual i reckon.

sure they drop, but intel is in such a market lead, that the drop is miniscule. they just don't have to do it.
I think none, they will just EOL it. Used one price will drop, however, and i see nothing wrong in buying a used cpu, been doing that always and never had any problems whatsoever.
I have been trying to find a way to make a silent computer, and of the thing i thought of is underclocking or buying a T chip (lower tdp > less heat > more silent cooling).
But after months of looking for T chip (nowhere to be found in this country), and insufficient funds to buy intel K chip...
