I sold my laptop .. It wasn't that old but I wasn't using it often .. It was Samsung Series 9
Now I have the Gooogle Nexus 10 which is fine .. but the interface is boring and plain ..
My usage is mostly browsing, watching videos (normally downloaded as torrents, NOT Pirated movies) .. and...
I use 3 Monitors of 2560x1440 in Eyefinity .. Love it but the bazel is annoying .. I would prefer in future to go for a Curved 4K .. but that's at least 4-5 years from now.
I'm having kinda similar system .. As far as most games you play are GPU dependant and as far as you have a good GPU like R9-290 then no need to upgrade ..
Mostly I'll hold up until I see some benchmarks of Haswell-E when it comes out .. Note that lately focus of intel is not much on...
I was hoping to play this game .. Got it from Steam but can't get it to launch .. it's so frustrating since I don't have a clue where to start troubleshooting ..
I'm running Windows 8.0 - 64 Bit and the driver is Catalyst 3.11 BETA ..
My hardware specs are in the signature ..
Please...
I'm Running this exact resolution .. 2 cards of 7970 are doing a fine job .. but not ideal as some games (like batman) are kinda choppy .. some other games are running fine .. I guess things will be better with the next driver which will support frame pacing on eyefinity.
My suggestion will be...
LoL ..
I never doubted that my Nehalem is Old .. I'm only doubting if it's Old-Enough to be replaced ..
4930K is awesome processor .. But I'm not convinced yet that it's an awsome replacement for i7 930 ..
Enjoy your 4930 :)
So I've got "Rayman Legends" game on the PC .. I don't like it on full eyefinity resolution as it's not designed for that and cut-scenes look just awful.
But when I set it to single screen resolution (2560x1440), I get three copies of the game on three screens !! I don't want this .. I want...
I think 4GB is outdated ..
I mean if new consoles are 8 GB .. How can the boss (PC) be less !
I'm still using 4GB for my HTPC but this is only to play DVD backup images .. but for anything more serious than watching video and browsing, I would definately recommend higher RAM ..
I found this link that might be an intrest for you:
http://news.softpedia.com/news/Gigabyte-Updates-BIOSes-For-Intel-Z87-Chipset-Motherboards-373171.shtml
As per the link, the C2 Stepping support is done by a BIOS udate (Article date is early August) .. So even if you get a board without C2...
I've done some research and here is what I've got:
- Z87 has 16 PCIe Lanes as a total.
- If I use 2 Way SLI or Crossfire, the graphics cards work as 8x/8x
- If I use 3 way crossfire, the graphics cards work as 8x/4x/4x .. SLI doesn't support 4x so 3-Way SLI is not supported natively on Z87...
It's a good offer .. but keep in mind in AMD offer you can keep the code and claim later when more appealing games are available .. you don't have to go to today's bundle as is it ..
I'm thinking of this approach too .. get a pair of good graphics cards in March and then do a system revamp when Haswell-e is out along with adding a third card ..
Thanks guys .. Since I'll have budget in March only, I guess you are right that it's kinda early to judge.
In general, IBe sounds more tempting due to expensive side effects of HasE
I've checked Amazon .. the known brands are 500+ when it comes to 2560x1440 .. If you can upgrade your budget, then this is the way to go considering that monitor is not something you change often ..
Otherwise, if you stick to 1080p .. I personally prefer size .. From your recommendations the...
So I'm still running i7 930 with a mild overclock .. See the full specs in my signature..
I'm wondering about next gen games at my crazy resolution ... When will be the right time to upgrade? I won't have budget until March .. Should I go IBe in march or hold on longer for Haswell-e?
I'm...
Read the reviews of which company makes the best soundcards .. Asus uses their own which are awesome and argued by many to be best in the market .. Personally I'm a fan of Creative Labs sound so I'll vote gigabyte since they use Creative sound .. I honestly don't know about MSI ..
I agree with this suggestion .. Have a look around of what's available, then you can post here and we'll help you decide which one is most suitable for your needs.
I had such experience with older pre-LGA days with Intel ..
If the pin is bent and you can straighten it then it's OK and you can survive ..
But if it feels loose, then probably the base of the pin is no longer holding properly .. in this case .. you can R.I.P this processor and get...
Oh .. Dust .. !
That's an annoying thing .. my Micro ATX Alienware case is just a dust magnet .. but I guess not cleaning since 2 years should only collect dust .. if only Alienware thought of a dust filter 2 years back !
Most cards in-take the air from front of the case and exhaust from back .. so clearance between the cards doesn't matter that much ..
I have a Micro ATX case where the two cards in CF are actually touching each other .. no clearance all .. still all OK ..
In any case, if you feel more...
