Best MOBO for the buck?

If the ECS K7S5A works- it's the best bang for the buck. I just replaced my ECS with a MSI KT7266A Pro2-RU. Slightly pricey, but worth it.

PULLED: POSSIBLE VENDOR FRAUD

I'm still confused. I have a 1000MHz Athlon Socket A on a ABIT KT7 with a 256MB stick of Micron PC133 RAM. Will this memory work on my system? I'd defintely pull out the old stick, if it was incompatible. Please help. Thanks!

Digital Cable Modem Shutting Off - Your Thoughts?

I have a RCA DCM-105 Cable Modem. Within the past 2 weeks, it now decides shut itself off at various times. Has anybody heard of such a thing? I've contacted RCA to see, if they'll do something about it. But I'd like to know your thoughts on this, too.

Altec Lansing has a good 4.1 setup for about $99. I have a 2.1 Altec Lansing setup. ACS44, I believe. They sound great and they were about $50. Got them connected to a Philips AE board.

Just search on Google. You'll find tons of reviews. I switched from a FOP38 to the Volcano 2. My ears thank me every day. You may want to lap the bottom of the heatsink before you attach it.

Task Scheduler won't go away

You can kill task scheduler another way. Go to Start -> Run -> type in msconfig, click Startup tab, then search for a checked box with taskscheduler.exe (or some such thing, I forgot exactly); uncheck it, exit program and reboot. It also works if you want to get rid of other programs too!

Quick question on Cdrw installation (its stupid I know)

I'd go with your HD on primary IDE. Then the DVD as master on secondary IDE with your CDRW as it's slave. Some DVDs play better when they are the master drive. Mine is one.

Iomega ZipCD 12x/10x/32x - Low MP3 / WAV Ripping Quality

I have the baby-brother to yours, mine's 8/4/32 ZipCd. Have you tried dropping the write speed down to 2x, or even 1x? You usually do this when you have a buffer over-run; but this also can help if your audio quality on your burned CDs is suffering. Mike

Coolbits Registry Hack Not Working With Latest Detonator Beta Drivers

That's not unusual. When I had my GeForces, only certain driver versions were compatible with the coolbits registry hack. If you want to OC with any driver, you might look into downloading the shareware program, PowerStrip. Just search for powerstrip on Google. Mike

Voodoo 3 2000 AGP and TRIBES

Hi. Tribes is a Glide (3dfx) game. OpenGL was added later in a patch. If you have a Voodoo card- you should run Tribes in Glide. You'll get far better video output than in OGL because it's 3dfx's native 3D API. I have a Radeon 32DDR and use Open GL for Tribes. I think it's looks pretty good...
