Recieved my new sempron 2500...

And before I even installed the OS I upped the FSB to 200 from 166. No problems at all. runnin for a few ours under normal load at ~47c with stock HSF. Not too bad I fI do say so myself! does anyone know of a way to up the FSB by 1mhz increments using te Asus A7N8X-e DLX? TIA loosbrew

Ok, I haven't done this ina while, so...do these pieces fit ok?

well it's ordered, went with the sempron 2500 and the asus A7N8X-E Deluxe w/7 1gb of Corsair VS pc3200. should make for a fun system to play around with overclocking and the like.

Anyone using and ADVUEU 723A??

I am in the market for an inexpensive monitor and noticed this one on newegg. Anyone have any expereince with this particular monitor? If I don't get this guy I will robably stay real cheap and purchase two cheapo 17" CRT's but I wouldnt mind a 17" LCD to be honest! TIA Luis

Another mp3 player thread

I purchased a RIO Karma and love it. It is a bit on the flimsy side, but has handled being dropped a few times on the tread mill. I PM'ed at circuit city with a Walmart ad for only 250. 20 gig and sounds great! Luis

oh yeah, one reason I didn't want the mobile cpu was that they were all OEM's and didnit come with HSF already. I wanted to do this as easy as possible so I didn't have to study which were the best or quietest etc...too late for that now :P Luis

I forgot to mention that I have an ATI 9600 pro already... I was thinking of the ASUS due to reliability(?) is the shuttle just as reliable or more so? How about features for just playing around with OC'ing, just some tinkering not necesarily hardcore OC'ing. I noticed the RAM thread earlier...

it might be the built in web intergration features, like the directions feature when word detects an address, or maybe to make it easier when you click the "get more" templates" link or whatever its called. that usually sends you to thier office templte website. loosbrew

ok ...i just made a script that runs in the default user startup group. it was easy but i was trying to get it in the image. oh well. its needed for some specific banking applications that we have to deal with for a while until we upgrade to a newer windows based system! loosbrew

ok, sorry for the confusion. when you create a new local user in win2k it takes its regstry(ntuser.dat) settings from the default user profile. within this registry dat file, it sets the User Environmental variables to point temp to documents and settings...etc. now, i know how to change it in...

heh, yeah you think its that easy! :) what i really need is to set that C:\TEMP dir whenever anyone logs into a machine automatically. we want to not have to worry about if someon logged onto someone elses machine for today and now they cant get a certain app to work. thanks anyways loosbrew

IE - How can I get the Status Bar to remain?

go to a flder and configure it to how you like all folders to look like, status bar, details etc... then before closing it out, goto tool, folder options, view tab, and the "Apply to all folders" button should be in the upper portion. hit that and say yes. works for me every time loosbrew

XP .net beta Server and Adprep.exe in a 2k Forest.

you would have to change the schema in the already functioning Win2k DC's, which always a good idea, but if its only one change, you can take a weekend to replicate the schema and GC to all the other DC's and then promote the .net server there. might not be worth the trouble though. loosbrew
