Best Dual Slot-1 M/B?

Hey Andy, I've a similar situation. I've 2- 800EB's (Slot1) and want to find a mobo in basically the same range as turunturun. Can't seem to find anything dualie that runs a 133 bus, so i'm thinking that I might just make a single proc. machine instead. Any recommendations on this?

GL- Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. But it's a shame that more often than not, the "ideal" way to live is too far out of reach for each person to attain. They give up trying to get to that point and end up just settling for less. By settling for less, they feel bad, but...

yeah, EF... it's 100%/100%... give/give, not give/take. If it was, then there's expectation on your behalf to get something in return... Call it what you want, but you should always want the better for your spouse. Heck, even to other peers and friends.. Helping them out and not wanting...

wouldn't it be nice if a company would make all their chips on ONE platform, so that people wouldn't get screwed everytime they wanna upgrade. oh yeah, AMD already does that. = ) No hassles. Socket A chip? Yep. Then get a Socket A mobo. Oh, ok, that's easy. Yep, sure is. ~niko ^_^

maybe i just have a hard time in understanding this... But why would i want to go out and buy a brand new mobo with an old LX chipset just so i can run a 733 Celey? seems like the prices are close... ($30 mobo + $15 slotket + X celey chip) For a little bit more, i can buy a kick-butt Duron...

the 800 is finally on a 100 MHz FSB... and ZX is, just as you say, 66MHz. ZX was a revamp of LX, even though BX was already out... it was usually used by OEM's for budget microATX mobos... they weren't around too long, though... at least from what i remember about them... they were somewhat...

Still ok to get KT133A based mobos?

I've had both a KT133 and a KT133A board... no problems whatsoever, and i do all kinds of content creation and stuff with animation and interface design... i've multi-tasked the heck out of it, and it's loved me anyways.. just gotta spend a little time tweaking it out... but that's the fun of...

All MSI owners Please read

yep, anytime i changed away from the default settings for the CPU in the BIOS, and a crash or whatever happened, when i would press the reset button, it would jump my O/C of 900 down to like 550MHz.... as long as i power-cycled it, it would come back up at the requested speed. Funny, though...

I use my Visor Deluxe for a few things: 1) ToDo Lists (i'd forget my name if i didn't write it in there) 2) School notes (printing those rigs out is way better than my handwriting) 3) People/Phone numbers 4) Games (though extremely rare use) I always look at "PPC" and think...

Question: Starting to build a new system. Any good deals on cool cases?

Yeah, colorcase is my pick... I grabbed the Venus model, all aluminum, translucent, the heat,baby. Good cooling, super easy access (no screws), with a Fortron 300W PS... I love it to pieces... That's my recommendation for a cool case, dude... rah rah ~quiksel

what is the default voltage for a tbird on a7v?

I believe that Tbirds at or below 850 use a 1.70V... then the 900+ Tbirds are 1.75V......... I read that somewhere... the line is somewhere around the 800 or the 850 (my 800 is 1.70 default) rah rah, ~niko ^_^

Unwise to pair geforce2 ultra w/ a 1gig (o/c) duron?

depends on your game. UT is more processor dependent than the speed of your video card, as the engine isn't as new... but Q3 is more video card dependent... Anand even mentioned that at the higher resolutions, the only differentiating factor seems to be which card you're running... so an ultra...

Video Capture Card - Recommendations

my recent experience with my shiny ASUS V7700 Deluxe (a VIVO unit) has proven to be very good... very easy to use the software, so converting all those movies would be a snap. And it's less than $240. A 32MB GeForce2 card, too, so you can play all the games you want at good resolutions...

Which is better between the ATI 64MB MAXX or 32MB Radeon DDR?

for 30 bones, I'd be going with a Radeon... but for $120, you could buy ANY GeForce2 MX card and then have some good driver support... drivers for ATI have been lukewarm at best.
