    i used a Mach III for years, but got tired of the nicks. now i use a Panasonic ES8243A Arc IV. Pros: for me, it works great BEFORE a shower. Cons: if the charge is low, it'll just stop in the middle of a shave & you can't use it while it's charging. for me, post-shower shaves are terrible.

    Does it matter if you use a pad when barbell squatting?

    partials have their place, but i'm having a hard time seeing any benefit from this. there's a guy at my gym who does the same thing. he also does bench press & squat in the Smith machine the same way, with a 1 inch ROM. i just ignore it & concentrate on my own stuff.

    use alternating grip. it's safer - you want to minimize the chance that a heavily loaded bar will fall from your hands & smash your knee or leg or somebody's ankle. plus, alternating grip is better at preventing the bar from rolling and then violently removing skin from your palms. grip strength...

    for both squat & deadlift i use Asics wrestling shoes i bought on sale at Big 5. flat, stiff soles, high top, cheap, have lasted forever. if they ever wore out i'd try chuck taylors.

    there are friday night morons at my gym who leave plates on the bars or scattered all over, ditto dumbbells. it's almost funny to see 315 lbs on the squat rack bar and a neck pad.

    the guy who won my age/weight class lifted more than 600. in my weight class you have to weigh in the day before between 242 and 259lbs, so his weight's there somewhere.

    also, the rack makes it easy to change plates. after the set i walk the bar forward & then rest it on the squat rack lower arm thingies. i use the power cage for rack pulls.

    i did a 100 mile bike race through the mountains. it got hot about 2 hours into it & a lot of people dropped out before the 70 mile mark. i finished, but my brain was fried for a few days.
