This. Very inexpensive way to get the build pretty much up to date. A x5670 at around 4.2ghz would be ideal with the P6T Deluxe v2 as it can't use turbo multipliers full time like some other boards can (22x185 would be a good start).
The x5670 will actually be a bit faster at the same clocks...
Should work fine. I have a 1650, 1660, 2650, 2670 all v1 and all work fine in my x79 deluxe.
Although if you do any gaming I would advise against the 2650/2670 because of the poor single threaded performance. The 1650/60 can equal or surpass the 2670 when overclocked to ~4ghz and have much...
Honestly, I wouldn't bother with those kind of boards. I had a MSI x58 Platinum and it needed quite a bit of voltage to get even 4ghz out of a x5670.
I think it needed something like 0.0525v (1.25v vs 1.325v) more than on my P6T Deluxe v2 and it never seemed to be 100% stable. I ended up...
I'm a little confused about my WF3 rev2 with FX1 bios. I got it used about 6-7mo ago.
From what I understand it should be locked at 1.25v but GPU-Z shows 1.113v.
Msi Afterburner won't even display the voltage (tried reference, standard, extended settings).
I'm able to get pretty good clocks...
