Ok everything appears to be fixed, set it to 6 CPU threads and 373.06 drivers and left it running overnight and it appears to be moving onto new tasks correctly now. Finished with lectures for the day and it's gone straight back to it so hopefully that's the only trouble I'll have.
Also going...
Ok I've dropped back to the 373.06 drivers and will let you know if that fixes the issue with new tasks. Unfortunately it seems to have started a pretty large task estimating 9 hours to completion so it'll take a while to find out.
Changing CPU threads from auto 7 to 6 seems to have got the new...
Hey guys having some issues here. So when my GPU (GTX 960M, 376.09 drivers) finishes a task it moves onto the next one, starts downloading, and then fails and won't start folding again until a reboot. I get a similar thing with the CPU where it finishes a task, moves onto downloading the next...
Hi Samastrike joining up!
Doing this on my laptop with i7 6700HQ and GTX 960M so won't make much of a difference but it's for a good cause and will help heat my room (I'm a student and the heating isn't on much) while it's running.
It should be possible but I wouldn't try upgrading to ivy bridge there because there's a much greater chance of your laptop rejecting it. Although there isn't much benefit in upgrading to a higher end sandy bridge dual core...
If your phone is unlocked or you end up going with cheap android phones then seriously consider 3 on pay as you go. They do 3p/minute, 2p/text and 1P/MB which is absolutely dirt cheap compared to our other carriers. Also their 3G network is very fast and I get great signal in all but the most...
Well the first time I wasn't too sure what I was doing but it is simple enough. Watch a few video guides of people doing the same thing to get an idea of how to do it and then have a go.
Just be gentle, especially on the die and around the resistors (at least I assume that's what they are)...
I replaced my laptop CPU for an i7 2620m a couple of months ago and repasted the CPU and GPU while I was at it.
A few days ago I helped a friend take apart his laptop because the fan stopped spinning and it was constantly overheating, managed to fix the fan and repasted his CPU and GPU while I...
K-series only launch on desktop does make sense. If 14nm capacity will be tied up then they might as well release a few new products to the market that wants them instead of a complete lineup.
I'll play on normal first just so I can have a slightly more enjoyable playthrough for the story. After that I crank it up to legendary/insanity/hell and do that.
I did it 3 days ago so too late for advice now.
Anyway, some results: I'm pretty sure I used a bit too much paste and I ended up just screwing the heatsink down to spread it for me instead of spreading it by hand. With the GPU (525M overclocked to 540M speeds) it's resulted in 15C cooler temps...
Got my iPhone 4S in early 2012 and I'm planning on getting a 5S this year. I was going to get an HTC one but iOS 7 is probably the biggest reason I'm staying with apple. I've been running the iOS 7 beta for over a month now and I just love it, coupled with the 5S and it's a pretty solid upgrade
I don't know if this should go here or in the CPUs section but let's try here first.
I'm about to put a new CPU in my laptop (i7 2620m) and was wondering if it would be better to apply thermal paste in a rice grain and let the heatsink spread it, or if I should spread it myself.
Advice will be...
I've overclocked the GPU in my laptop (GeForce 525m) to the speeds of a 540m (a £65 upgrade option for my laptop that I didn't consider worth it.) I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes but as my laptop is capable of cooling the higher spec GPU I don't think it's much of an issue.
I've...
As you can see in the image above, the photos on my iPhone are taking up 2.2GB and I have absolutely no idea how because I only have about 160 photos on my iPhone.
My phone is jailbroken and I have been using a file browser to try and find what might be taking up that space but I have been...
