Just a word of caution about using light boost, I have a 2411t and found that using light boost for extended periods of time would sometimes cause the monitor to show a screen full of horizontal lines for a few seconds and then revert back. There's no warning messages about display drivers...

7970GE vs 7970

Hmm okay. I'm just asking because I have a xfx 7970GE oced to 1165/1600 (it's voltage locked) and I've been seeing others with plain 7970s at higher clocks and wondering if they would be performing better than mine. At those clocks I managed to get 960 on heaven 38.1 avg fps 21.1 Min 83.8...

What are the benefits of a 7970GE over a 7970? Even though the 7970GE comes with higher clocks out of the box, everybody seems to be OCing their 7970s anyway, and I've heard that 7970s can achieve higher clocks than a 7970GE, especially considering more have unlocked voltage. If the two were...

7970 Ghz no signal detected on boot with 8 pin and 6 pin, boots fine with only 8 pin

I just found out I made a pretty big FUBAR.... Turns out I had plugged in the hdmi cable to the integrated graphics port on my mobo and not the gfx card itself. I have work now so I won't be able to test it plugged in to the gfx until tonight... but do you think that might have been the problem...

I forgot to mention that when I have both the 8 and 6 pins connected, all the fans are spinning, there is just no signal detected on the monitor

Hi guys, I just finished my first build and have a bit of problem. The computer boots up fine to the bios with all fans spinning and everything when I have only the 8 pin connected to my XFX 7970 Ghz card, but when I connect both the 6+2 and 6 pin to the card, my monitor shows no signal...
