It's a Lenovo Y510p laptop that comes preinstalled with some Lenovo bloatware but I'd rather it didn't remove those apps if I did some kind of factory restore.
I'm really not familiar with Windows 8 as if this is the first device I've owned that runs it so not sure how to proceed. I know...
But how would that make it look like it did the first time I turned it on? For instance when I initially pressed the on button it loaded up the finalise windows 8 setup and I had to make a microsoft account, put in language and keyboard settings etc and choose a computer name, username and...
Hello
I bought a windows 8 laptop and I turned it on and put in location, language, keyboard etc.. and went through the initial setup to get to the desktop.
However I want to return the laptop but I want it to seem like I've never turned it on, is there anyway I can reset it so that it...
I'm not sure if I mentioned though that sometimes the crash recovers itself and it's fine for a short while but sometimes it causes the computer to simply restart itself.
I'm not sure how a cable might cause the computer to shut itself down.
Could it be the PCI port? The graphics card is...
It's not just limited to the post screen, windows suffers all kinds of glitches and crashes too but I do suspect the motherboard is the problem as the white lines affect windows even in safe mode.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5
Processor: Intel i7 920 D0 Stepping 2.66Ghz
Memory: 4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz (in the second Dimm slot as the first one wouldn't even allow the computer to display anything and it just shuts down.)
SSD: Sandisk Ultra Plus SSD 256GB
PSU: Be Quiet...

I have a computer with only an SSD attached and after a failed install because of a USB failure I've taken out the usb. Taken out the SSD to and placed into another computer to format off the corrupt installation however when I place the SSD back into the other computer I want to install Windows...
I've ordered 3x4GB DDR3 sticks, GeForce 660 and a 250GB Samsung SSD with adaptor.
Never had a particularly tight budget but for me there's no point in overly splashing on components I don't really need right now.
And I'm sticking with Windows 7 not 8 for now.
Already got plenty of storage...
Built this computer in 2009 and had to move abroad in that same year it's just been sitting in my mom's cupboard gathering dust for almost 4 years, it's missing a graphics card, hard drives and memory.
Components still inside it are:
