No Blind Spot Rear View Mirror

They aren't too heavy so it shouldn't be an issue really. I know a guy that uses one, he loves it because it eliminates blind spots and acts as a second window shade in the middle of the windshield, haha.

    Upgrading from a 2GB 6950?

Newegg shipped very fast or I would have cancelled and got the MSI card...oh well, no use crying over it. Right now I am just marveling at the size difference between by three GPUs from the 5750 to the 6950 to the 7950, holy crap.

    Problem with Onkyo tx-sr606

Is your actual input on the receiver set to display HDMI?? I know on my onkyo I had to manually set my desired video input to HDMI. I have the ps3 plugged into HDMI 1, but I had to choose Video 1 (or 2 or DVD) and then use the control to set that particular video to source from HDMI 1.

What is destroying sparkplugs in my engine?

There are quite a few things. There could be bits damaging the piston, which would cause hot spots on the surface (and again, detonation after a while) that could chew up your spark plug tips. Alternatively, they could be bad plugs, but in general NGK is very good so that is a bit of a...

Supra and MR2 making a comeback

The link says they're actually bringing back the Celica (or more likely the Celica)? That's a bit saddening if they do choose that instead of the Supra badge, especially if it is supposed to be a higher performance RWD sports car.

NSX Anxiety - buy soon or wait till finances are more settled?

I don't know, I remember seeing them often in the 50-75k range when I was a bit younger because it was my dream car in the early 2000s. They probably dropped a bit in the late 2000s but yeah, now they are getting pretty ridiculous. I suppose it is due to them being ended for a while.

What is destroying sparkplugs in my engine?

Could be poor sparkplug gaps causing some detonation and damage to the plugs or bad fuel fouling them. Hard to really say, but removing the sparkplug will be bad news. Believe me, you will notice a significant difference because you will flood the shit out of that cylinder and get no firing at...

    Sub help please...

Queequeg99, I am interested in that particular build you are speaking of. I would like to get into making my own sub and speaker boxes and I am always interested in new designs that provide better sound or functionality. One thing to consider is the type of wood you use as well. Different...

Downsizing shop and cars and taking road trip

Yeah, the 240z is just a beautiful car and I am very much a lover of the fairlady line. I hope to grow a collection myself though I know it will take a long time, especially with how the older s chassis Zs will grow in rarity as the years go by. I love meeting other Nissan guys on forums...

    Help choosing a new camera

If he is just starting, I see no reason to purchase anything more expensive than the Rebel T3i. He can get one used for much less and it can use many of Canon's excellent lenses as well to get very high quality pictures. From there he can choose to sell down the road for a decent price and buy...

Managed to destroy a dual valve spring

I definitely wouldn't. California gas is terrible for engines. I remember my grandpa saying how he had an old Camaro that was getting awful detonation out of nowhere and when he finally stopped to think about it, it was because he filled up in CA and the most premium gas at the pump was only...

Managed to destroy a dual valve spring

Solid. Like that you're going to do the added work and get it how you want since you're taking it all apart anyways. I wish budget had allowed me to do the same rebuilding our '69 327 block and heads, but they're iron anyway so I couldn't go too overboard with the CR without requiring much...

Using HDD as STORAGE and SSD For Gaming

Huh, well how about that? I have to admit, I wish I paid more attention to these things because that is a nice little tool. I always assumed you had to actually have the software on the SSD to take advantage of it, though in hindsight it does make sense that such a technology would be...

Downsizing shop and cars and taking road trip

I love the Z cars. I've got a z31 myself, but I absolutely love the 240z. An LS1 into a 240 would be a hell of a ride, that's for sure. Once I'm done my Z I plan on purchasing another as a project and it will likely be a 1973 240z. Unfortunately I'm not sure exactly which Z you have, but I...

Need Printer for College Freshman- Opinions plz...

Brother makes excellent printers. If you find any printer for $50 it will probably not last because you get what you pay for, regardless of brand. We use a Brother laser printer for very heavy printing and it has held up perfectly for years. I got one for personal use as well because of how...

    Upgrade from a core i5?

If I were able to put up my used parts for sale I would but I am only selling a i5 750 anyways so you would probably want something a bit newer.

    Upgrading from a 2GB 6950?

I got the Sapphire 7950. Ended up being $260 after California's ridiculous sales tax and delivery costs. In hindsight, I probably should have just grabbed the $220 card and saved some money but I do feel comfortable buying the Sapphire Brand card. I am a big fan of them and MSI.

    Upgrading from a 2GB 6950?

I think I will do that then. I have heard great things about the 7950 and I am not afraid to overclock a bit for the added performance. As long as it hits the $250 mark I can use that promo code and get it even cheaper.

    Upgrading from a 2GB 6950?

Sadly I am in one of those states too. Goddamned California and our stupid taxes. But yeah...I may still find a way to buy the damn thing anyways because it is an awesome deal and would let me go another two years or more without really needing an upgrade (at least, I hope).

    Upgrading from a 2GB 6950?

It ends up costing $322 shipped after tax, which is at least within reason. I had accounted for that when listing my ideal budget, of course. I know the price on the page is going to be less than what I pay. UNFORTUNATELY, as I was checking out I got a text. "We need to book flights to...

    Upgrading from a 2GB 6950?

I may take that 7970 then. I figured the 7970 was a safe bet but I like to get the opinion from others because I really don't get too involved in just checking out benchmarks online and deciding from that. I like to hear about overall experiences and user issued as well. $300 for a 7970 is too...

    Upgrading from a 2GB 6950?

That's great, but I'm telling you that it is lagging for me. So yes, Skyrim is my reason for upgrading or at least finding more efficient ways of utilizing the GPU for in-game performance. Pointless or not, I want to be able to run the games I play at the highest settings possible. For the...

    Upgrading from a 2GB 6950?

Yeah, I have one I am pretty sure. I am not so sure it is the texture mods as much as it is some of the gameplay mods (such as the civil war mod). It tends to slow down during the large scale battles and during thunderstorms and snow(which for me is very often). I probably could figure out...

    Upgrading from a 2GB 6950?

Hi all, I am on basically my second home made gaming PC. Right now I am running a 3570k, 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz ram, and a 2GB HD 6950 GPU. In general, it is great and handles almost everything I need without issues. I do have one concern though and it is making me wonder if I should upgrade to a...

    Upgrade from a core i5?

The i5 750 is still awesome. My understanding is the Ivy Bridge (and I guess SB) processors have better memory controllers so you will have faster memory usage, but it really doesn't seem worth upgrading. I would wait another two gens probably first. I am on the 3570k now and love it, but it...

How important is the quality of HDMI cable?

Yes, don't waste money on expensive digital cables. Just get ones that meet the current standard and if you care about looks go buy some heatshrink tubing or weave to dress it up.
