Need help - no signal input after POST screen

To add a little more info, I've made sure everything is connected properly twice, all power to motherboard etc. Changed PSU's twice, even tried with a brand new XFX 80+ SLI 650WATT. Still does the same thing. His PC works perfectly with either his 8800GT or a spare ATI 6570 I had lying around...

Need help - no signal input after POST screen

After building a PC for a friends son last week, everything was fine for about five days when suddenly the display turned off and he got a "sync out of range" error. After rebooting, you see the POST screen and RAM count etc, then the screen cuts off and "sync out of range" appears again...

Help with a sound output problem!

Yes it works but you have to physically hold the jack in, as soon as you let go it falls out because the plastic around the edge has broken away.

GTX760/HD7950 or wait?

I guess spending $999 on any PC graphics card at the minute is silly, considering you have been, and will be playing console ports 90% of the time. Next week I'm buying either a GTX670 or a 7950 for around £160 and maybe a year after the next gen consoles have been around, I'll pick up a card...

Putting a 760 or 770 GTX in a C2D/C2Q machine is like installing 16GB DDR3 and running Windows 98se. Presuming you have indeed a C2D or C2Q in that PC, and coming from an 8800 GT or Ultra, i'd say go for something like a 650GTX or 7790 AMD. Both of those cards will be bottlenecked, unless you...

Phys-x is for me like AA. Although I have never owned a recent Nvidia card, if I could turn on better physics in a game for ... 5% performance hit, and I was still clearing 60/75fps, then sure why not. But for AMD users getting the 30%+ hit, no chance! Regards to AA also, back in the mid 2000's...

Who/What do YOU blame for this extreme lull for enthusiasts?

Age was most probably a big factor, but also the games were far better. We saw advances every month for many, many years. Everything was exciting and games were being made by game loving geeks who could have been doctors / lawyers but chose TO MAKE GAMES instead.

Well those links I put are Ebay links, but the items are being sold by the official Scan.co.uk computer shop, just through their Ebay Z-Shop. I guess I prefer their Ebay items listing as it makes things easier to see. Scan has a dodgy system for displaying products on their official website! ^^

A good mouse pad for the G500 mouse

It's true that the power/heat looks far more attractive on the new generation of cards. According to Anandtech BenchGPU 13, its 250watts for the 7850 and 410watts for the GTX580 at load. The 580 does win overall by about 15% in performance though. Still, worth considering the 7850 for sure. I...

You have to remember, since the mid 2000's CRTS have been a thing of the past. While I welcomed the widescreen revolution brought by LCD's, I really do miss the beauty of 120Hz. Like you said, anyone who tries to sell the idea that 60fps is as smooth as 120fps has clearly never played...
