I took some new close ups and BioShock gaming footage of my monitor :) if somebody wants I can record some doom 3 footage tomorrow and post with my calibration guide off angle off angle lights off closeup closeup can you see the pixels? :P Bioshock first level

Mark do you know if adaptive vsync recognizes when the frame rate dips below a multiple of the refresh rate? I like to run the highest multiple that doesn't suffer fluctuations in order to always see the newest frame

Geez I hope not, I was just thinking if you halved the gray scale on the VX300 you could run 250Hz/500Hz at 18-bit!

No problem :P at least someone is learning something Now I found something very interesting, this panel has a native refresh rate of 125Hz NOT 120Hz Why is that interesting? because it implies a faster drive than typical plasmas - 125 does not fit into 600Hz. Makes you wonder why they don't run...

The FB30DD3D board works by sending 60hz left and 60hz right frames directly to the monitor, in theory you could demux a 120Hz 2d signal and that would be that but it's an expensive bit of kit

As you know I'm having a some trouble with a bandwidth limitation (pixel clock cap) but I am trying to work around it and will keep everyone updated For those reading I am able to run 71hz@1920x1080 and 91hz@1440x1080 with 1:1 pixel mapping which is a big improvement and offers CRT level...

I've been looking at the pin out layouts of all the DVI add on boards and the 42TM6D conforms to the dual link spec so I went ahead and ordered it for 50 quid As far as 3D goes, the PF30, BT300 & VX300 are capable of 60hz/per eye but the PF50 leaves out any mention of simultaneous 3D...

I have just received the PF30 and there is some good news and some bad news Good news: these are true native 125hz panels, motion is fast with all input refresh rates and 4:4:4 works out of the box Bad news: the scaler expects a 165mhz pixel clock, one tap past that and the scaler makes a mess...

optical resolution (or sharpness) is a function of both resolution and contrast, they are interdependent and talking about one without the other is misleading at best If only I had a high speed camera I could show you guys that static resolution doesn't matter Thanks for that :wub:

Viewing distance will be a bit further than this until I wall mount it. 50 inch 1024x768 (rectangular pixels) from NEC How do I check for dropped frames? Monitors come in all sizes :)

I think it's basically see it to believe it with things like this When the screen is moving the plasma has the greater resolution, ever wonder why a 480i CRT can look so good with such little resolution

I don't know why everyone wants to dump on plasma, subjectively the picture is worlds apart from LCD Whatever your experience with plasma you can't compare televisions with half chroma resolution to a monitor edit: still going through with this, should have everything sooner than expected

Stephen Withers reviewed the BT300 In the comments he mentions the panel is the same as the PF series of that year (PF30)

I think I must suck at communicating, the PF50 can do 1080/120hz but the response time is such that it doesn't even blur at 60hz Anyhow, I'd love to see 210Hz :) back in my lanning days I was the only one who could spot 100hz<>120hz but the image degrades after 85hz

As of now oled has worse motion than lcd :P for heavens sake they are still using sample and hold and burn in is a serious problem The panel was refreshing at 120hz/1080p but with an image sent by the scaler, once I purchase a dual link cable I should be set for any resolution I think there is...

Well the manual was right, this is THE holy grail of gaming displays I just pushed 800x600@120hz and 1024x768@100hz over vga from my laptop, using the "-freq 120" switch on cs 1.6 I can tell you this is at least as fast as CRT possibly faster I literally can not wait to get one of these home...
