Xbitlabs shut down

Just in case anyone comes looking. The Xbitlabs forums were taken over by Tapatalk. Which was horrible. The forums moved to: http://www.xbitlabsforum.com/ Unfortunately Tapatalk refused to give out a copy of the forum files. Therefore, an entire years worth of posts and discussions were lost.

I swapped the cards around it was very strange what happened aftewards. Turned the computer on and seconds before windows starts to load the computer shuts off. Tried about 3 more times and it shuts off right before loading. Tried one more time holding Shift+F8 to try safe mode and Windows 8...

I read on another site that it works better to have the slowest card as the primary. I'm going to swap mine around later tonight.

I wonder if the issue could be that they both run at different clock speeds. One is the superclocked model the other is not.

Yeah if you can reproduce it I wouldn't mind seeing what yours is. I used Blue Screen to pull up the error code I have the same power supply.

Mine hasn't had anything to do with videos. I could just be on the desktop doing nothing or about to do something and it does it. or I might be reading a webpage. I do seem to have higher instances of it happening a minute or two after I close out a game and go back to desktop.

Its to early to confirm yet but it doesn't seem to do it if I don't have any overclock on my cards. I don't see why that would matter as I don't think a 103 percent power and +100mhz on core and mem is enough to cause any issues.

I'm trying to find what is the fastest ram I can use on my motherboard. I have an Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3. Currently with an i7 2600k @4.7ghz. Multiplier is set at x47, 100mhz bus, 1.34volts. I also have 4x4gig 1600mhz Corsair Vengeance ram. Based on some new information that has come out saying...

Purchased Geforce 780 HOF

Yeah I read somewhere that Battlefield 4 will prefer 3gig cards. I was actually looking at the 770 4 gig cards. But i'll just get a second 780 when its needed later on.

I could put the HOF on the lower slot then a regular 780 on the upper slot? Does the HOF run at "HOF" speeds where as the regular 780 run at stock speeds?

After having spent some more research I think I maybe should have gone with two 770's instead. It doesn't look like the 780 HOF edition can really be SLI'd very easily. It takes up two and a half slots. So its unlikely my board will support two of those side by side.

How much better would a 660ti SLI be than a 6970 crossfire? My wifes computer has a 660ti in it and she doesn't game. I could always pull that out and put it in mine and purchase another 660ti cheap and put one of my 6970's in hers. I'm guessing it wouldn't be a huge improvement and not worth...
