The case you said doesnt look bad, but like DigDog said, its an unknown company. For the same kind of money, you can get for example a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-197-_-Product which is made by one of the most known companies.

a6-6310 vs i3-4005u - ordering today

I say the A6 too. I am sure at some point she ll want to play Sims or something similar, and the i3 will not be up to par to do that.

The last case you linked is not bad, design wise, but no side fan. And thats what you want to keep your mobo cool :P

Exactly. That side fan is going to generate a lot of noise. A LOT. To the point you ll have to remove it. I got this http://b.scdn.gr/images/sku_images/003158/3158802/top5.jpg for a friend and we ended up having to cut all the grills where the fan was, because it generated a terrible humming...

Boot issues

Like phase said, check the monitor first. I had a similar issue with a screen and I ended up having to change 2 capacitors in the screen and all is good now.

8 pin and 4 pin MB cpu power connectors

Same here. My old eVGA X58 Classified and G1.Assassin both had 2 8pin for extra power for the CPU.

If your heatsink was not that hot, then the sensor was getting hit by the hot air of the GPU. Also, dont get that case, because if you want to install a side fan, the vents will make a whistling sound and at the end you ll end removing the fan.

If it was that, it could be the hot air from the GPU hitting the temp sensor. The ideal thing to do is touch the heatsink while playing and check for yourself. My friend has the same issue, although his motherboard is watercooled. Because the GPU air hits the temp sensors, its a lot higher...

Upgrade from i7 950 to i7 4790k

Heres a screenie! And, its not on air, its on a custom wc, with en EK block and the 2 7970s :P And no, its not placebo. I was constantly checking my FPS with the console command and although it was high, above 90-100FPS, it kept dipping to 40-50 for 1-2 seconds and that annoyed the hell out...

Have you sped up your upgrade cycle, slowed it down, or neither?

Till 2008, I was upgrading like mad. Latest part I remeber is Athlon 3200+ -> 3500+ -> 3800+ X2 -> 4400+ X2 -> Core 2 Duo E6600 -> E6800 -> E8500 -> E8600 -> Q9450 -> i7 920 -> i7 950 and that where it stopped. I just upgraded my CPU/Mobo since 2009 with a 4790K. Of course I changed...

Maximus VII Hero, no stereo upmix?

My X-Fi Titanium died yesterday. So I had to plug my 7.1 setup to the onboard "SupremeFX" sound card. The sound is TERRIBLE. But apart from that, isnt there an upmix option so that all speakers work when listening to MP3, youtube and in general, stereo audio?

Camcorder vs Camera, Canon vs Others?
