people need to decide either people who get paid big bucks need to bring good things if not take all the blame. thats how it should be. on one side people get told "hurr durr only few people can do xy job thats why they get big bucks" on the other hand we have people telling us dont put the...
How much performanceuplift do you get when gpu memory restriction is turned on? i guess especially in notebook envoirement this could be a kind of cheat.
I dont even know what there is to discuss about tsmcs 7nm. no one cared about intels better node then why would anyone care about tsmcs better node for amd. we have what we have.
While people are so certain intel will come back with a bang they seem to forget that in forever intel has lost its process leadership. they are so dependent on their manufacturing that they simply cannot be behind forever. if they cant regain their process leadership and the mass of die output...
Compare new Intel PR for their upcoming who knows when coming gpu on twitter talking every day about their gpu and amds current approach . AMDs old PR coincidentally at intel now :)
the good enough approach led them to todays state. amd is back they cant still commit to the good enough approach. their 10nm disaster will cost them many millions and many people will lose their jobs at intel. good enough is simply not enough anymore...
damn you are right. why is amd even trying to compete. they werent able to compete with intel and now not able to compete with nvidia. just close this place down /s
thats what i was thinking. i see the difference but i dont believe that ssao looks that ugly. just yesterday i finished metro 2033 redux and it looked pretty similar to the ray traced version
god damn some of the so called "media press" failed so hard. they simply repeating what these "white papers" said without questioning it. bunch of tools
btw no interview for nbc anymore:

thats the thing. amd is the second player as of today. you really think they will create and market a new gaming brand for amd? hell no. that is one of the things nvidia wants to achieve if everything is remotely true.
why are you comparing an aftermarket ti to an ref. 290x. point still stands. amd had an perf. mm² advantage even if they were almost the same in speed. it gets even worse if you look today.
That is not true.
Hawaii was 438mm² released okt. 2013 vs. the 780 that was at 561mm² released may 2013 or the 780ti released shortly after hawaii also at 561mm². so no the perf/mm² was just one or two generations ago in favor for amd.
if there is no one who will buy amd cpu/gpu soc this big and expensive why would they even bother putting rnd into it? just sell them to intel and take the lower part with RR & co. win win win.
amd rtg is in a unique position which they should not break up.
