Do you get any stuttering with 4x SLI? I was on tri-xfire for a while but had to get rid of one card just because I couldn't deal with the microstutter.
Yep, that sort of thing will give you a new perspective on life. Makes you realize it's not just you and your small circle of people you interact with but that you are part of a universe.
I have mostly cut out sugary snacks and, this sounds counter intuitive, but it has really helped my energy level. Probably a result of dropping weight. I have never had much of a sweet tooth, but completely avoiding sugary stuff has really helped keep pounds off...
Man, i remember when my dad would tell me about writing papers on a typewriter. ouch. I mean, his entire working career writing reports was on a typewriter. I just can't imagine...
Yeah, my wife's cousin grew up in the bay area in a pretty modest 3 br house. They probably paid about $50K back when his parents bought it in the 70s. They just sold it for $1.7M and are going to move to Hawaii, buy a house there and live off the land and retire.
I would like to put my name in the hat for the Geforce GTX 960, the 256GB Samsung SM951 M.2 SSD and 6TB drive. Here's what I would do with each:
960: I am building a steam box for my son and a 960 would be perfect since he's only playing Lego games and the 960 can run these pretty smooth at...
I have a matte one myself. It is gorgeous. The one I got clocked at 120hz with no coil whine. It can go to 135hz but it starts giving off a bit of whine.
I have crossfire 290s and can play BF4 on ultra getting between 90 and 120 FPS on an 2560x1440 Tempest.
I mean, you HAVE 2 290s in your possession, right? drop them in your gaming rig, fire up BF4 and see for yourself.
I have trifire 290s and I am also watching this post intently. Not pulling the trigger on 2 more monitors until I see your results Karlitos. I was about to buy an active DP->DL-DVI adapter to test it out but I'll wait to see what happens here:)
There are a few options I have used:
Bitsumo.com - It is basically a service that will order stuff for you and send you a bitinstant invoice. They charge a fee, but their service is great. I have ordered from Newegg and ebay through them.
Gyft.com - buy giftcards with bitions. Amazon is...
Yeah, I think I made the right choice with a second 7970Ghz. Gigabyte's Windforce coolers are a good balance of good heat dissipation and relatively low noise even with the fans at high RPM. I am honestly on the fence about watercooling them though. They will not clock much higher without...
I ended up finding another Gigabyte 7970Ghz on Craigslist and couldn't resist. I'm now getting between 75 and 110 FPS in BF4. The settings I use are Ultra presets with Post AA and Ambient Occlusion turned off. Here is the rest of my rig:
delidded 4770K @4.7Ghz
Corsair H100i
Asus Maximus VI...
I was strongly considering grabbing a second 7970 Ghz in a few weeks when we start seeing clearance prices for the remaining 7970Ghz's. A single 290 now and a second in a year or so when they drop in price is sounding like a better idea...
Thanks for the advice guys. I'm going to wait it out and see what prices are like, particularly with the non-reference cards (hopefully) in a month or so. I want something on the quiet side and the reference blowers look LOUD:D
I'm on the fence here and need advice:
I currently have a Gigabyte 7970 GHz and can't decide if I should get a second one for crossfire or get a 290x to push pixels at an Overlord 27" @120Hz.
I plan to play a lot of BF4 and Mantle being compatible with 7XXX series is a compelling reason for...
