gf2 pro/ultra or radeon

The Nvidia Pro/Ultra have issues with rolling line patterns on the display that you should be aware of. I spend 90% of my time in 2D so a few 10-20 fps drop from 140 fps does not matter much to me.

Radeon is in 1x mode, need some help from via chipset Athlon owners

The KA7 do have some known boot up issues. I suggest you read Paul's KA7 FAQ. A friend of mine with a KA7 browsed the technical support over at www.rage3d.com to rediscover some key information that may help. The following link was also provided. Hope this sorts things out.

New Radeon 7062 drivers about to be leaked

I do not run Win2K but I am told that the following drivers run within 10% of the Win98/ME drivers. I have waited two days for the dust to settle on the nwe 7062 drivers. I think I will download them today.

Faster is not the issue when the differences are like 10%. A bit like the 2D performance situation which no one really cares about. Visual sharpness, lack of ghosting, 3D rendering quality, and DVD quality make for the best image quality. Take one for a test drive in a store or at home.
