PC Costs lowered the 256 pc133 again.

I'm waiting for 256MB ram to reach 19.95 :) Like Askalon said though, watch out for some of those pricewatch vendors, some real shady business going on with some of them. 15.00 to ship a dimm ????

Noise from fans

I currently have 3 fans on the cpu. One on the heatsink (taisol) , another right behind the cpu blowing out of the case (Y.S. Tech) and another 80mm fan from an old power supply blowing onto the memory, cpu, chipset. It DOES make alot of noise. I'm planning to rework the whole thing when I get...

is NOLF supposed to be that demanding?

I haven't tried the retail but the demo was really choppy on a p3-750 on a geforce ddr. I hear they did alot of optimizations since then, hope so.

What programs heat up CPU temps?

A program I found that works really well is cpuburn : http://users.ev1.net/~redelm/ not sure if this is the same one your referring to. Also if you really want to push it, a technique I've found that works well is to up the ambient temp. If your case is open, take a hair dryer and start blowing...

80mm Taisol HSF on 900 RETAIL ...

I got the same thing. I bought an 800 Tbird retail boxed version and sure enough the heatsink and fan is taisol. Also noticed in the AMD install manual that comes with the cpu the heatsink in the pictures is also taisol.

Overheating problem with T-bird 800

I wouldn't worry about the voltage on the t-bird. I have an 800@900 right now at 1.8v and its running 35C idle, 38C under load. You may just want to get some better cooling, although 45-47 isn't high.

To you people with MSI K7T Pro2s and Durons that you're overclocking...

Do HD fans(coolers) work?

The fans do work. I have a couple of drives that were really hot when I opened the case. I bought some coolers off an acution for about 10.00 shipped. Has dual fans and a filter. Didn't seem like they produced alot of airflow, but later when I checked the drives they were cool to the touch.
