New Moto devices announced 7/28/15

Same here. I'm not as interested in new phone releases anymore since they're all going 5+. My favorite screen size so far is the Nexus 4, 4.7 with 1280x768 (instead of usual 1280x720).

Can I efficiently backup data remotely to a NAS at home?

Don't forget to enjoy your vacation away from the camera. I average about 48GB of photos over 2 weeks on vacation. I mix up the image quality, else it would take a lot more space. Think about 17GB for 650 raw file. Also 1080p videos eat up space at a fast rate! Take a 1TB external drive...

Similar, though I updated my router dns server so it handles all devices on my network. This helps a lot for phone/tablets that do not have an adblock equivalent.

Who makes a good hiking/walking boot?

I'd had Merrell, Vasque, Nike and others before. I did like the Nike ACG (all condition gear) hiking sneakers. The Vasque broke. No comment on Merrell. The current Lowas are expensive, but well worth the money.

Learning how to transfer pics from android to pc

Try FTP server app. I use it and do all wireless transfers now by connecting ftp client on my computer to the phone. Less hassle than with usb cable.

My Moto G can do 2days 15hrs and be at 9% battery left. That's with slightly over 4hrs screen on. (And 11hrs of keep awake from Tunein, not playing music.)

I don't use them. My only advice would be to exit programs that run in the background after you're done with them. Tunein seems to keep awake if I 'pause' from lockscreen or quick notifications. I have to use the 'stop' icon.

Maybe change your browsing behavior? Firefox will let you keep the tabs when you exit the program. I also have a lot of tabs, but I exit the browser a couple of times daily. Firefox doesn't reload the page on the tabs until I click on that tab, so it helps on performance since all the tabs...

Help in remote diagnosis this ThinkPad X60! (Overheating, USB boot issues)

See if the fan is moving. You can open it up carefully and remove anything blocking the fan. I had to open up my X61t to replace the hsf unit and didn't find it that easy. Lots of parts and screws to keep track of. It may be much easier on the non-tablet version.
