Modern games...

Thanks for the info Savatar. Most helpful. I only have one game running from steam which is Company of Heroes by Relic, but since their servers have disappeared and installing from my discs means I cannot log on to my account there, and so the game is unplayable. Google being my friend...

Thanks again for replies, and suggestions for other titles. I think I have the first Far Cry in a cupboard somewhere, I will have to rummage. It always amuses me when I install UT99 G.O.T.Y as it requires no KEY, only needs the internet for online games...I doubt there are any active servers...

Good webcam?

Mine is an old Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 and does a pretty good job too. Its only fault is that the rotating web cam head has gone a bit slack so sometimes will not stay in position and gets a bit of 'brewers droop'.

Modern games...

Many thanks for taking the time to reply. I also have in my library Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Half-Life, Sup Comm, Coh/ToV/OF, JTF, C&C series.....so I generally like RTS and FPS games. I will look into the Bioshock games too....thanks. I have gone off multiplayer games now because my wrist...

I think that people that catch a virus are the ones that happily click on something in an email they receive. Like a supposed email from a Bank asking you to log on because there is a security problem. Or perhaps a site that says that 'You need Flash Player' to watch this video. Or perhaps...

I totally agree, The diologue was dire, the story was kak, and not a lot really happened. On the plus side, the CGI was pretty good with the Earth shots. Glad I matched it for free on my Nexus 7 (it was so bad I just had to struggle through to the end) and not paid out good money to watch in...

What software do I use to fix registry errors.

I must admit I use a registry cleaner which is one of the tools in Ashampoo Uninstaller 5. But, only when I have had a bit of grief uninstalling a game, and to annoy the left overs I run the cleaner to see how many bits of the game is left over and removed.

Windows 8.1 vs 8.1 Pro. Worth upgrading?

Luckily (or not) when I bought Win 8-64bit back in November 2012 from MS for £25 'Pro' was the only version on offer........I think. Also at the time MS were giving away a free key for WMC, so, as it was free I got it, and yesterday used the 'add-ons' to install it and the key is valid...
