The Kraken x10 + H55 would be worth more than the 7870s
I think you might be able to clear 150 for the lot. But you might be better off selling them separately.
Keeping one of the x10 + H55 sets to put on a 290.
You should be able to make the change over for $50 out of pocket.
A worthwhile...
HD 7950b I got off ebay a year ago for AU$125.
Does 1100Mhz @ 1.08v, which is plenty at 1080p.
I think my next move will probably be a freesync monitor and secondhand R9 290.
Maybe all the 480 chips have been tier b parts. Binned to hit ~1300.
Maybe the 490 is a super clocked version, binned to hit ~1500.
Has chipworks released a real die shot yet?
I suspect they very much do. The sky high retail prices were partly responsible for the 290/290x (IMO underserved) terrible reputation.
Not only did it negatively impact AMD in the eyes of its most profitable customers (gamers), it didn't even get to reap the monetary reward, with retailers...
I suspect that if there is a 40CU Polaris 10, that for the foreseeable future all those chips will be going to Apple and/or mobile parts.
It makes more sense this time around than the wait for full Tonga as AMD has no competition in the mainstream space till GP106 drops.
Once yields come up...
Rumors swirling that Intel might be walking back from allowing BLCK Overclocking
http://www.kitguru.net/components/cpu/matthew-wilson/rumour-intel-may-block-overclocking-on-non-k-skylake-cpus/
Some random Chinese site is the source, so plenty of salt grains are in order of course.
In my...
Are there specific PS4 exclusives that you really want to play? If yes, get the ps4.
As for GPU upgrade, we are so close to 14/16nm chips that it is a difficult time to go spending a big chunk of cash on a GPU.
If you really must upgrade (your games aren't running as fast/or at quality...
And on top of that there is emulation, that opens up games on every system up till Wii, excluding OG Xbox. And over time all systems will be available, baring some edge cases.
Shintai threw me by talking about cost per SoC.
Who knows what the A9 will end up costing apple in total.
R&D is a bit nebulous, and difficult to integrate into a conversation about wafer cost, before a particular part is EoL.
$20-25 makes sense to me. And from there you can start to...
Inference based on questionable reasoning then?
I'm pretty sure it would be huge news if the BoM on the 6s had doubled over the 6. Has anyone heard any news to that effect?
Where the hell are you getting your numbers from, those figures don't make a lick of sense.
I'd be very surprised if they are paying much more than $50 per SoC, and that would be generous.
Could be the gpu dying, could be the PSU.
Do you have any way to access a spare PSU to test with?
Fire up GPU-Z and monitor temps.
Open up computer and clean it out if dirty/dusty, special attention on the video card.
Try underclocking or raising voltage on GPU core and or vram if possible.
Not very helpful, but personally I would go for an ultra wide 1440p (3440x1440) freesync/gsync panel.
It is about half the amount of pixles as 4k, so very much doable with current high end single GPU setups. Fury or 980ti level would be sufficient.
Any higher resolution that that, are you...
A one off I doubt we will see repeated unless AMD steps up its game.
Also that chip was not actually very good for any sort of modern workload, no matter how high you clocked it, in most cases you were much better off with a i3.
Nothing like the days of FSB/BLK overclocking.
Edit: Looking...
Hopefully at some point Intel is going to start selling more cores for the non-enthusiast level platform.
i3 = native 3 core 6 thread
i5 = native 6 core 6 thread
i7 = native 6 core 12 thread
That would be nice
If you aren't going to take my word for it, how about our own Idontcare?

Or Mr Ryan Smith?

Are you using a wireless keyboard? Try a wired one if you can.
Absolutely sure that f11 is the key for getting to the bios? Try del or f1 or f2.
Got another monitor available that you can use, or a HDMI/dvi adapter?
I'd be surprised if it is a power issue, unless the PSU is actually faulty. I doubt his setup is pulling more than 650watts out of the wall whilst gaming.
Yeah, I want to be clear that I wasn't actually recommending either of those cards, just that they fit your criteria.
You would get better advice if you fill in a few details for us.

You have proof of all this extremely wordage?
Current rumors are saying that it is the TSVs that are the biggest technological hurdle. Do you really think they won't have a handle on them 12-18 months from now?
Lucky this rumored console isn't coming out till next year at the earliest...
