PC Finally booted - How do I know if it's working right?

Yep! That's the one. Are there any guides on what I should be doing to double check everything? Most importantly with results that I should be comparing to?

GSkill Trident DDR3-2400s. It's showing as 16gb now. DRAM Freq @1199.8. Says dual channel too!

PC Finally booted - How do I know if it's working right?

ASUS Maximus VI Hero. I got the RAM working, I think. I had to enable XMP. My temperatures seem to be at around 40 with my 4770k @ stock with a Noctua NH D14 basically idle. From what I can google, this seems high. I think I might have screwed up the paste.

Any advice on what's wrong and how to fix it? My first PC I have made in 10 years. It booted up first try and haven't had any issues (aside from things not working correctly). Seems like there's definitely a problem with RAM detection, but I'm not sure about the rest...

I don't really have any local store I can go to for purchases. Also, I'm not sure if this is against the rules to talk about or not, but is there any downside to purchasing a BizSpark key? If this is not allowed, I will edit it out.

Thanks! I understood that I wouldn't be getting any noticeable gain going to DDR3-2400 but my primary concern was that it might be worse than DDR3-1600. I am hoping that is not true and the reviews seem to say it's not =)

Thanks guys, I ended up grabbing them anyway. I understood that 1.5V was what was recommended as people kept telling me it was 'pointless', but they didn't tell me it was worse. At this price I could get this stick of RAM for less than the equivalent lower voltage RAM. I'm not afraid to OC...

NCIX has 2x8gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 @ $140. It really isn't worth the extra $50 for 2x8gb GSkill Trident DDR3-2400 @ 195?

Am I mistaken? If I look at a list of NCIX's DDR3-2400 memory, they are all listed as 1.65V. I can't find 1.5V DDR3-2400.

I'm looking at GSkill Tridents DDR3-2400, but they are 1.65v. In fact, all the 2400's I see are 1.65v. I want 2x8gb for RAM. Is this an issue? Also, are you sure about EVO > Pro? I swear the benchmarks I see all place Pro higher.

Thanks so far! I cannot test the usage as the reason I'm buying a new PC is that my current one is acting rather strangely. I will, every now and then, have a new more intensive game open on one monitor and have the MMO on a secondary monitor too- so it's not just MMOs.
