Norton System Workds 2000 has a utility that lets you span large files across several floppy disks. If you don't have it I am pretty sure I have seen other such utilities at ZDnet try a search there. Good Luck
Kind of odd I jsut switched from Win 98 to Win2k. When I had 98 I hardly ever got a Security alert from my firewall but right after I switched to win2k I started getting Security Alerts all the time. I have had Win2K for over a month now and I get 3-4 alerts a day of someone trying to gain...
Do yourself a favor and get an Antex Sx serries case they come from small to huge and I am sure that one of them would fill your needs. These cases are very well made and offer excelent cooling. Then throw you TBird in there and watch it fly
Nothing wrong with the Enlight cases but I think the Antec SC series are far superior. They are very well made and sturdy and have about the best air flow and cooling you can get.
I think cases are very important especially if you have a hot running TBird or are into overclocking. A well designed case will help keep your temps in line and have room to add case fans to improve air flow. Also if you do much work inside your case it is nice to have a roomy case that was well...
I have the same cpu a slot one 750. I have tried so many heat sinks I can't list them. With out a doubt the Alpha P3125 is the best. The Global Win VOS-32 is a close second and a llittle cheaper. You can get both of them at 2cooltek. With the Alpha I have my 750 clocked at 1gig under full load...
I think the 300 will power your planned system without any problem but if you can afford it I world go for the 400 watt that way you can add more goodies in the future.
It should produce a negative case presure the two Sunons suck more out than the Antecs pump in and the Power supply fan moves more than the hard drive cooler fan does
Having a posative presure in the case does reduce dust, but can cause dead or hot spots. I have an SX830 I took the two Antec fans and put them in front intakes with aluminum filters on them to cut down the dust and put two Sunon high output fans in the back for exhuast. I also have a hard drive...
I doubt the heat sink will get hot enough to melt the fan, but I don't think it will cool as good with out the shroud. I would try using some small rubber of fiber wahers to secure the shroud and eleiminate the vibration.
Good choice I got my Pioneer a few months ago and have been very happy with it. I got the OEM drive just hook it to any IDE channel and go for it. you will need a software player I recomend WinDVD.
I personally did not like the feel of Wind2k. It felt too buisness like and seemed to restictive. It didn't take me to long to get real frustrated with all the compatability issues. My scanner, joystick, and burner all had problems. I am sure Win2k is mor stable but I personally do not have any...
I canned my cue cat long ago. Basically it is a bar cod reader. You scan a bar code off of any product and it open a web page for that product. For instance scan a bar code on a box of Crayollas and it opens Crayolla's web site. Problem was their data base was not very big and most times the...
I am no paint expert but I did paint my case about 7 months ago with good results. I used a very light sandpaper to scratch the existing paint and then gave it several coats of Krylon Spray Paint the more the better. I let it dry overnight between coats. I then gave it a couple coats of clear to...
I have had my KDS for about a year now it is a VS-195e and they have replaced it one time. KDS definatly has some quality control issues. When my monitor is working it is fine and I have no complaints. Their warrenty service is excelent. Lucky for me they have a location less than 10 miles from...
Your temps are very high both case and CPU. I have a slot 1 P3 750@1000 with SETI running 24/7 my case temps are 24-28 depending on ambeint room temp and CPU temps are in the 34-36c range under full load. Ditch the orb and get an Alpha P3125 or if you want to save a few $$$ get a Global Win...
Try either a Global Win VOS-32 or the Alpha P3125. I have the Global Win on my 750@930 and it keeps it at 35-37c under a full load. I ordered the Alpha because my kids computer needs a new heat sink the Orb just aint cutting it. When it arrives I am going to put the Global Win on theirs and try...
I have the same case and it is great. I put the two fans that came with it in the front as intakes and got two Sunon High Outputs for the back to act has exhaust. The Antec fans are not as loud as the Sunon's and they are much closer to whrte I sit than the exhaust fans are that is why I...
I have always felt it is more important to get the hot air out. The only problem with negative case presure is that it makes things get dusty faster. I use case filters so that is not a big problem. Sometimes with a positive case presure you create weird airflow patterns which can lead to hot spots.
I just got my Pioneer 106s slot load DVD it came with PowerDVD and the playback was terrible it was all jerky and just basically sucked. I am now using WinDVD and am much happier with it.
I recomend an ASUS P3V4X the board has been very stable for me and has all kinds of over clocking options. I paid under $100 for mine and it has never given me a lick of trouble. I think it is one of the best slot 1 mobo out there.
I think there is a bug in the Norton Memery test. If my machine has been on for a couple of hours it always fails the Norton test if I reboot it passes. I bought another stick of Cruical ram and got the same results. Norton admits that if you have over 256megs of ram that their test will fail...
The Alpha mentioned is a great heat sink. I have a Global Win VOS-32 that I think I almost as good or maybe as good as the Alpha. Mine is on an Asus P3V4X and come real close to the ram slots but does not block them. They come with 2 YS Tech 60 mm fans. I have a P3 600 running at 900 with SETI...
