    I have a Pentium 3-733 system that runs with just the power supply fan. The CPU has a giant heatsink on it (stock from Intel) with no fan. I'll bet if you coupled that with one of the Antec 420 quiet power supplies, it would be almost completely silent.

    You need to make sure your memory settings in the BIOS are set to the most conservative settings possible. Example, set the timing to 2.5T or 3T if possible. Make sure your memory bus is set to 266MHz. Set memory timing to "Slow".

    Always put a note such as "I am not responsible for installation problems. I only guarantee that this item was tested and working when it left my possession. No warranty." I always put that in my computer stuff auctions, and the bids don't seem to suffer because of it.

    I think you want to remove that, unless it specifically says removing will void the warranty. My Athlon 1700 came completely naked. Having a paper sticker that close to a hot core would not be a good idea.

    I'm a big fan of HP deskjets because they print photo's very nicely without having to tweak the settings. I have an 880 (about 2 years old). Also, the cartridges are expensive, but they last a LONG time. A $200 HP printer should print photos just great.

    Check out the message board at the FAQ link for more information. The most likely cause of your problem is an underpowered power supply. Another source may be an overheating chipset. I would bet money on the power supply myself.

    Either is a good choice. If it were me, I'd gamble with the Celeron just because you might get it up to a high speed. You might also consider an Athlon XP and a SIS based motherboard, which will cost about the same as the Celeron upgrade, and offer superior performance at stock speed.
