    Perhaps el cheapo is an overstatement, got 2 256 MB sticks for $39/each at Fry's. Looks like I'm getting WU's in the 2:10-2:20 range, not too bad so far. Looks like I'll be peaking at around 60-70 WU's per day, just in time for Seti to end :| edit: obviously thats for all my machines, not...

    I built another Shuttle AN35N/Barton 2500+ system for my youngest son. :D Bought some el cheapo Corsair PC 3200 and the usual stuff, booted up and it's cranking along at 3200+ speed. I got Fry's to sell me a returned Zalman AlCu for half price, and it's running at 40 deg Cel under full load...

    Did a little upgrade to one of my boxes, a Barton 2500 and a Shuttle AN35 Ultra 400. You talk about bang for the buck, I zipped the Barton to a 200Mhz fsb on first boot (optomistic, huh?), none of that burn-in crap for me, no problems at all. I'm using the stock HS/F and left over Cricial 3200...

    Zalman CNPS-7000Cu - will it fit on an IS7-G okay?

    It's your $2, but you haven't submitted any reason to believe the Cu is preferable to the AlCu. As Al dissipates heat better than Cu, I'd be inclined to prefer the AlCu model in a hot room, and a HS that weighs 50% over spec would give me some reason for concern unless I knew it was going to...

    Have you increased your DDR voltage? IS7 will let it go up to 2.8 which should be no problem for that RAM.

    :cool: I'm not sure how high my Crucial 3200 Cl3 will go, but it ain't 250 Mhz! RIght now I'm at 2.6V 2.5-3-2-5 on a 5:4 mem ratio. Haven't had time to go to 2.8V and see what it'll do, I got a "no post" on Cas 2 at stock voltage.

    Had a crash :( , temps were still OK so I juiced the vcore and vdimm (now reading 1.55 and 2.65) and upped it to 3.2 Ghz, seems stable, downloaded a bunch of WIndows updates and ran some more Sandra stuff, no crashes. Temps are now in the 55 deg range, still OK I think. It's just begging for...

    Brought my new rig online last night, IS7, 2.4C with Zalman, 512 MB PC3200 Crucial, 80 Gig WD, Samsung 52XCDRW/DVD combo drive. All in an Enermax case with a window, neon and an Antec TrueBlue 350W PS. I am a little concerned the Sandra volages look a little anemic, but no problems so far...

    P4C Thermal Cooling - First Timer Needs Help

    Nothing wrong with techronin's advice if you don't mind spending the money. But the folks at Intel aren't idiots, the stock pad and HS will work fine unless you have some unusually hot conditions around your PC. I think many are even hitting some decent overclock speeds with the factory setup.

    It may be worth remembering that Crucial is a TTown sponsor and supplied the ram for the test. Entirely possible it was tested by Crucial and handpicked for the review. I'm inclined to try some anyway, perhaps their yields are just that good right now.
