Too risky for me.
I've been a member of Netflix for several months and would rate their service as very poor. I live in Houston, which is where my Netflix movies are shipped from, and I still see a 5-7 day turn around time from when I return a movie to when I get the next one. Netflix intentionally adds a delay...
Here's a few other 30" LCD TVs.
Walmart
Costco
TigerDirect
I have no idea how these all compare with the Dell, just posting some options for comparison shoppers :D
I messed up my back years ago in a motorcycle accident. When I sleep on a traditional matress, I wake up stiff and sore, but on my soft squishy waterbed, I have no problems.
Got mine yesterday. Just hooked it up to my Dell laptop at work via the DVI connector and watched a little bit of Austin Powers, yeah baby!
Ran the pixel test program- no dead pixels! :D And I can not detect any difference in the brightness at the top right of the screen that others have...
PPRIOR, thanks for posting this deal. I've been wanting a large LCD that could do 1600*1200 for quite a while. I just hate to think how much this will really end up costing me by the time I get my CC payed off :o
I may be poor, but at least my eyes will be happy.
Just got one of these Kawasaki players at Target in Beaumont, TX. Lots on the shelf. I like this thing! Got it for the kids for Christmas, but wish I had one for myself :)
I really like the adjastable video intensity and color and the sound quality is surprisingly good for such tiny speakers...
I got one a couple weeks ago from Compgeeks. It's junk. Yes, it lights up, but it's very difficult to type on. Keys are stiff and 'sticky', not smooth.
This thing is strictly a novelty item, not for real use.
Cheap lighted keyboard at Compgeeks
I switched from Yahoo to MyWay a few months ago, when Yahoo reset my privacy options and my Yahoo email got flooded with SPAM.
So far, Myway has been pretty good.
And no SPAM.
Actual rates with 4X enabled are around 10-11Mbps each direction. Other brands and non plus D-Link cards that don't have 4X mode will run 4-6Mbps. These are normal data rates for 802.11b wireless.
If you just need web access, the regular, non plus, cards are fine, since you're web access is...
There's a good D-Link forum at dslreports.com, lots of good stuff there for connection problems and D-Link has tech reps answering questions there.
I use this card with the 614+ router and the latest firmware & drivers have doubled my wireless data rate.
I'll stick with my Shuttle XPC. Don't like the little cooling fans in the one at CoolorGuys, seems like they would be noisy. But, yes the price is hot.
Got one, thanks.
What's the AMD Assured thingy all about?
Also snagged a 200GB HD before anyone else could get their grubby little paws on it :D I'm usually to slow to get the HD's, they go FAST!
Read an online article last week saying that wireless network prices are about to drop due to new manufacturers ramping up production. According to the article, you can expect wireless NIC's to be selling around $10 very soon.
Wish I could remember where I read that- mighta been at CNET, but not...
