Thanks found fount exactly what I need so I don?t need alternatives, simply never heard of the company and want to know if anyone here knows if they are the real thing or a fly by night.
I need a media converter RJ-45 to Fiber SC connector, the trick is that it will be installed in a cabinet that is exposed to the environment. Thus it needs to be able to handle high temperature high humidity. A Google search found Garrettcom.com
I have never heard of the company anyone have...
All 19 inch LCD monitors that run 1280 x 1024 have the same 0.294mm pixel pitch. The pixel pitch multiplied by the resolution defines the physical size of the panel. Suggest you consider the new Planar PX191M.
Based on my twenty + years designing monitors and looking at our own failure data over the last 5 years you are absolutly incorrect in both your assumptions.I doubt that you have underware 45+ years old.
A good 17 Inch LCd 16ms perfect for gaming is $479 street price these days.

I think you have it backwards, the MTBF of the average CRT is 30,000 hours, the backlight on an LCD is 50,000 hours. LCD's are far more reliable than CRT monitors.

I don?t call it hype, I call it research and development. Every LCD manufacture is working on technologies to reduce pixel response, increase viewing angle, getting a wider color gamut etc.
NEC publish a paper on one technology they were working on and unfortunately people assumed that it...
Limitations of the LCD manufacturing process sometimes result in dead sub-pixels. Three sub-pixels one red, one green and one blue make up a ?Pixel?. A dead ?pixel? three adjacent sub-pixels is rare, however dead sub-pixels are very common. A "dead sub-pixel" can take the form of either a black...
This is what I remember about the 1280 x 1024 standard.
It all goes back to the days when IBM and Brooktree where manufacturing RAMDACs for video cards and they where competing. The Ramdac is the chip (often embedded) in the graphics chip that has driven the resolution standards. The Ramdac is...
Sounds like the system is running the monitor out of its scan range. Boot into safe mode and set the system resolution and refresh rate to the monitor manufactures recommended setting.
There's a distinct difference between the laptop and desktop monitor markets, and therefore between the panels designed for each. Desktop monitor panels tend to be brighter having better contrast ratios and viewing angles then those high-resolution versions used in laptop displays. In many...
You will not find one. All LCD monitors are fixed resolution devices because the pixel pitch multiplied by the resolution defines the screen size of the LCD monitor. LCD monitors use a matrix of cells so the pixels are in a fixed location and therefore define the native resolution of the...
Aluminum foil does nothing to block magnetic fields, you need a high permeability metal to have any affect on magnetic fields.
BTW monitors interfering with each other will not harm either one. It is just annoying to the user.
No, you cannot shield a monitor from magnetic fields unless you cover the front glass, where the fields come in. Covering the front glass would defeat the purpose of the monitor now wouldnt it.
What you are seeing is the affect of the Earth?s magnetic fields influencing your monitor. Monitors are very prone to magnetic influences even the earth?s natural magnetic field will have an influence on the monitors geometric distortion and color purity. This is normal, take any color monitor...
On LCD monitors the pixel pitch multiplied by the resolution defines the screen size of all LCD monitors. Thus they are a fixed or native resolution devices. For example a 15? LCD has a pixel pitch of 0.3mm and 1024 horizontal resolution. 1024 x 0.3 = 307mm horizontal. 768 x 0.3 = 230mm. Using...
Does not matter how flat the outside is, lines can still be straight. Remember all so called flat CRt's with the exception of LG are curved on the inside.
This is NOT normal for a monitor with a good power supply / deflection circuit design. All monitors drift slightly as they warm up, however they should not drift more than 1mm IMHO. A professional grade monitor will not drift more than 1mm. This should be hardly noticeable to most people.
Planar has a much better warranty, with free 48 hour advance replacment. Planar also has a much better dead pixel policy, max of 3 dead sub pixels, where NEC policy is 15.
The reason 16ms is a key number is the fact that most LCD?s vertical refresh is 60Hz and 60Hz is 16.66ms.
Thus the pixel response time is slightly faster than the frame rate.
Would be nice to hear your thoughts not just a blank statement, which means nothing.
I have not heard any offical announcement of a 19 inch LCD panel. Rumors on this and other forums say there are products in the works, however LCD panel manufactuer that I know of has announce a 16ms 19inch panel.
There are no 19 inch monitors that can do 2048 x 1536 resolution at any decent refresh rate. You will need to step up to a 22 inch 140Khz horizontal scan frequecny monitor if you want 2048 x 1535 at 85Hz. There are a few of these on the market, NEC FP2141SB, Mitsubishi DP2070SB and the...
Sorry we do not carry Envision products. We contacted them about running their products through our store, however they where not very interested. They seem to be focused on the retail channel instead of the online channel.
Its good you brought up cost. The majority of computer users out there still do not have a VC with DVI outputs. Yes I know most of you gamers update your VC every six months, however you are the minority compared to the millions of computers used in corporate environments. In this case they...
Bandwidth is a little complicated and needs some explanation and background in monitor technology.
There are three components that make up the monitors refresh rate. Pixel clock, horizontal scan rate, and the vertical scan rate or ?refresh rate?. They are all interrelated.
Monitors draw...
The chief advantages of DVI are improved image stability. The DVI interface provides a pixel clock, where the analog interface the clock used to sample the analog video has to be derived from the horizontal sync.
Even though it is possible to have pixel jitter in the analog interface, It is...
I make it a point not to give recommendations in the public forums, its against the rules of most forums. If you want my recommendation feel free to drop me a note jim@monitorsdirect.com
Honestly I?m not that familiar with the details of NEC products. What I will say is that NEC is a...
Since this started as a KDS thread, thought you might like to read an press release on KDS.
Cornea Technology, the parent company of leading U.S. flat-panel display
manufacturer, Cornea Systems, today announced the acquisition of KDS
Korea. Cornea Technology will leverage certain strategic...
Anytime you run something above what is was designed for you risk shorting the life of the unit. Most modern monitors have a protection circuit that puts them in energy save mode if either of the sync signals are out of the monitors recommended range.
If you get a unit that does not do this...
