I need a media converter RJ-45 to Fiber SC connector, the trick is that it will be installed in a cabinet that is exposed to the environment. Thus it needs to be able to handle high temperature high humidity. A Google search found Garrettcom.com I have never heard of the company anyone have...

    Viewsonic VP191P or Samsung 191T

All 19 inch LCD monitors that run 1280 x 1024 have the same 0.294mm pixel pitch. The pixel pitch multiplied by the resolution defines the physical size of the panel. Suggest you consider the new Planar PX191M.

    CRT Vs. TFT

Based on my twenty + years designing monitors and looking at our own failure data over the last 5 years you are absolutly incorrect in both your assumptions.I doubt that you have underware 45+ years old. A good 17 Inch LCd 16ms perfect for gaming is $479 street price these days. Jim...

    CRT Vs. TFT

I think you have it backwards, the MTBF of the average CRT is 30,000 hours, the backlight on an LCD is 50,000 hours. LCD's are far more reliable than CRT monitors. Jim Witkowski Chief Hardware Engineer MonitorsDirect.com

Anyone interested in FFD technology? Too bad :(

I don?t call it hype, I call it research and development. Every LCD manufacture is working on technologies to reduce pixel response, increase viewing angle, getting a wider color gamut etc. NEC publish a paper on one technology they were working on and unfortunately people assumed that it...

dead pixels in LCD displays ?

Limitations of the LCD manufacturing process sometimes result in dead sub-pixels. Three sub-pixels one red, one green and one blue make up a ?Pixel?. A dead ?pixel? three adjacent sub-pixels is rare, however dead sub-pixels are very common. A "dead sub-pixel" can take the form of either a black...

    Why 1280x1024?

This is what I remember about the 1280 x 1024 standard. It all goes back to the days when IBM and Brooktree where manufacturing RAMDACs for video cards and they where competing. The Ramdac is the chip (often embedded) in the graphics chip that has driven the resolution standards. The Ramdac is...

Anyone know a 15 or 16" LCD Display that does 1600*1200

There's a distinct difference between the laptop and desktop monitor markets, and therefore between the panels designed for each. Desktop monitor panels tend to be brighter having better contrast ratios and viewing angles then those high-resolution versions used in laptop displays. In many...

Anyone know a 15 or 16" LCD Display that does 1600*1200

You will not find one. All LCD monitors are fixed resolution devices because the pixel pitch multiplied by the resolution defines the screen size of the LCD monitor. LCD monitors use a matrix of cells so the pixels are in a fixed location and therefore define the native resolution of the...

Will long term interference cause damage to monitors?

Aluminum foil does nothing to block magnetic fields, you need a high permeability metal to have any affect on magnetic fields. BTW monitors interfering with each other will not harm either one. It is just annoying to the user.

Monitor acting like a magnet is near

You are correct steel can be magnetized, once it is, it becomes a source of magnetic fields and does nothing to shield them.

    Weird CRT Monitor Problem

No, you cannot shield a monitor from magnetic fields unless you cover the front glass, where the fields come in. Covering the front glass would defeat the purpose of the monitor now wouldnt it.

    Weird CRT Monitor Problem

What you are seeing is the affect of the Earth?s magnetic fields influencing your monitor. Monitors are very prone to magnetic influences even the earth?s natural magnetic field will have an influence on the monitors geometric distortion and color purity. This is normal, take any color monitor...

    LCD & resolution?

On LCD monitors the pixel pitch multiplied by the resolution defines the screen size of all LCD monitors. Thus they are a fixed or native resolution devices. For example a 15? LCD has a pixel pitch of 0.3mm and 1024 horizontal resolution. 1024 x 0.3 = 307mm horizontal. 768 x 0.3 = 230mm. Using...

Display shifts as monitor warms up. Please Help!!

This is NOT normal for a monitor with a good power supply / deflection circuit design. All monitors drift slightly as they warm up, however they should not drift more than 1mm IMHO. A professional grade monitor will not drift more than 1mm. This should be hardly noticeable to most people.

    16ms 19inch LCD?

The reason 16ms is a key number is the fact that most LCD?s vertical refresh is 60Hz and 60Hz is 16.66ms. Thus the pixel response time is slightly faster than the frame rate. Would be nice to hear your thoughts not just a blank statement, which means nothing.

    Difference between DVI and VGA?
