Any Nice 1151 Fan coolers for i7-6700K?

Thanks for those pic's. Great little cases those In-Win 901, although things look a little tighter in that case than I thought they were from the initial pictures I saw of them. That HSF goes well with the aesthetics and clean layout theme you have going on in that case. Nice build, congrats.

Intel 540s worth it at $380

I would also consider looking for a Mushkin Reactor 1TB. Good controller and MLC. Newegg.ca had them for $249 (CAD) but are currently sold out. Amazon.ca has them for $384.

Memory/mobo issue? Won't boot with with 4 sticks, will boot with any two in any slots

Is the command rate with 4 sticks ram being set to 1T or 2T? Perhaps the default timings for 4 sticks were set too tight in the BIOS. If so, could possibly manually set lower timings.

Cleaning Arctic MX-4 with what?

I bought an Arctic Alpine 11 plus HSF, which comes with pre-applied MX-4. Accidentally touched the side of the HSF with MX-4 on it to some cotton cloth and I am trying to find something that will clean it off. Was surprised acetone didn't work.

Warning: new code word for TLC - "Cost-effective MLC".

This just stinks. I always thought that 2-bit/cell NAND should have been called DLC (double-level cell), rather than the catch all greater than 1 MLC. Then we wouldn't have to deal with these naming shenanigans.

I checked Mushkin's site and they have the same numbers listed as Newegg. I'm wondering if that is a misprint (someone at Mushkin messed up the spec. sheet) because it's so much lower than the other drives in that series.

Transcend vs MydigitalSSD, which one should I get?

Another option. If you already have some older memory for the i3-540 (2x2GB). Rather than buy 2x4GB, you could possibly just buy another 2x2GB, if the motherboard has 4 memory slots. The 2GB SS modules will work. If you don't have old memory and your M/B has 4 memory slots, go with 4x2GB...

You should probably start out by resetting your BIOS in case some of the memory timings were set out of standard spec. What is your CPU vcore reading? Even without upping vcore, Clarkdale i3 (i3-530, i3-540) should generally have no problem running in the 3.6 - 3.7Ghz range at stock vcore...

i3-4130 Handbrake benchmark request

I've tested Handbrake encoding to MP4 (including the latest version) with my i3-530 with/without hyperthreading. HT increases performance ~ 25% on my i3-530. The later versions of i3's should be about the same, so you can estimate performance from that and any clock/clock differences.
