The Sonic MyDVD software is borderline useless. I just use other software.. It is a good drive though, I've burned a couple of DVD s at 4X and my Toshiba set top read them just fine.
Robario - I bought it and returned it from Dell SB. When I was setting up the return at Dell I told them about the bad pixels, they never had any problems with the return - I buy alot of stuff from them!
Planar does have a kick arse return policy though, so if you ever do have a problem you can...
I will comment on the 19" Planar. I had a Planar PL-191 monitor about a month ago. I play games so I wanted no ghosting. The monitor ghosted, but not as bad as some other LCDs that I have seen. The occasional gamer would like the PL-191.
I returned my 19" Planar becuase after 3 days it started...
HeinekinMan, One of my other PCs is 440BX based. SP4 fixed my shutdowns. It used to take about 3 minutes for mine to shut down, now it does it as fast as it's supposed to, Everything works good so far. I also installed on a KT266A and nForce 2 motherboards and both are working good.
Serpent: I was thinking about getting the PX191, it certainly sounded like a good deal, I get one later, for now this PX171 is working well.
Cybordolphin: I have seen alot of people have dead pixels with PL191s, even some test models sent to review sites (Gamepc.com comes to mind) had bad...
The PL191M is an updated version of the PL190M, different bezel, etc. but they are basically the same. If you play any games and don't want any ghosting by a PX171 instead (which is what I did).
I bought the PL191M and then returned it, ghosting was too bad, not to mention that my screen...
Vehicles from mid 1995 on are (or are supposed to be) OBD II compliant. I use a computer based diagnostic utility called Vag Com for my Volkswagen, it's alot more versatile than this scanner, but it also costs alot more too. Helps get rid of the good ol CEL :)
Lots of people seem to be getting these with dead pixels. My PL191 has 2 dead pixels.. Poor quality control I guess, hope it gets better!! I also ordered a PX171 and I hope it doesn't have stuck pixels...
Imported: It does start with a letter W. I checked out Airborne's site and the tracking number does work for me, so all is good. It looks like the monitor will be home tomorrow, too bad I'm not there to test it :(

I got one of these last week and I was not very impressed. The screen had no dead pixels, but has grown 2 dead pixels in two 2 days... Ghosting in games and DVDs is worse than I can bare. Games are still playable, but games like...
There's a 15% Dell SB S&P coupon around that will bring it down to $406. Kingston 256MB Compact Flash cards have a $20 rebate too, so you might as well get one of those - end price for the CF card is $18.95, plus 2% ebates :)
I bought one of the PL191M 19" LCDs last week... It looks nice but it's crappy... My LCD already has 2 stuck pixels! It's going back and I think I am going to pick up one of the PX171s.. The PL191M does ghost somewhat in games, but I only play Battlefield 1942 so it's not a big issue for me.
I think that they will be coming out with an 19" LCD with a 16ms response time pretty quick, why else would they go on sale at this price :)

I've presently got a 17" Dell E171FP LCD and I saw that Dell was having a little deal on their Planar 19" LCDs ($500 for the 19" model). The Dell is actually decent in games, not too much ghosting at all (fine for me anyways).

That's a good question sxr7171, I've never run into that situation yet. Your invoice will also show the ship date, so if you wrote a little later telling the rebate person that the product was shipped late they would probably do it up for you, but that is YMMV.

On the invoice that you get it will state the order date, when you send in the rebate circle the order date, and you will be fine.
I have had shipping delays happen with several rebates with Staples and OM, I circled the order date and got the rebate no problem!

That's right, Dell has to notify you of any price changes, so I wouldn't worry about them charging the actual price. Another day before we find out.. yipee.
Dell was already aware of the price mistake, Rick014 reported that on page 1 of this thread. I called Dell up after not getting a confirmation email, I always get those emails very promptly..We'll find out soon enough.. Still no confirmation email though..

jjsole, I've got a 103S, which is basically the same drive, only it reads DVDs slower. There is no paper clip hole to pop out CDs, but I've had my drive for over two years and haven't had a single problem with the disc getting stuck in the drive. I use the drive every day. Hope this helps you a...
Thx a million!! I just bought the mouse (I didn't get in on the Intellimouse optical deal - I was too late), but this mouse serves me fine (I've already got one Intellimouse optical anyways, I find the side buttons annoying for gaming).
