for one that is not too strong and tastes really good i recommend a seabreeze...made from malibu rum and pineapple juice ....tasty and easy going for beginners.
I am always sceptical of using the beta drivers and especially when I am supposed to use it on the core component of my system. My system has only had periodic problems with the southbridge issue so I do not want to make a minor annoyance (for me at least) any worse at this point. Let me know...
even simpler solution...sounds like your power switch (ie the button your press) may be bad...to test it..open up case and plug in the reset switch to the connectors designated for power switch...start with the simple stuff first and it will save you some headaches...lots of folks on the forums...

good advice from badthad on your pci population...good rule of thumb is to leave pci slot one open on any board that has AGP. Also, which IDE connector is DVD drive attached to? Correct me if I am wrong please, but isn't the onboard Promise Controller best used for RAID...
unplugging components while under power is like trying to change your cars battery while rolling down the interstate...bad idea...need more info to help ya though as yzzim and badthad suggested

I have dealt with a very similar problem in the past that turned out to be the guys PS was not up to the task. Replaced it with AMD approved PS and it ran stable. Start there, if that does not fix it look at cooling, then peripherals, then memory is my suggestion...but I am betting a good...
/me thinks it best to leave that lil cooler alone unless you are already getting high temps off of it...why take a chance on scratchin the pcb while compressing the plastic screw tips?...granted I had no problem doing this with my geforce 2mx..but hey it only cost me $80 and I have plenty of...
I would say split it up into 2 or 3 partitions...I am not sure what dudleydocker is talking about. Just delete your current setup...run fdisk...format partitions...reinstall...and make a backup image of your OS partition using ghost or whatever...just a suggestion but I usually put all my core...
I would upgrade video card then wait for next Intel processor release and get the 800Mhz cpu you want even cheaper (just a few months off). I am running a baragin bin Geforce2 MX on a 700Mhz T'bird and there are not any games that I have frame rate problems with...plus the dual outputs are fun...
I do not usually rant but this issue has been bugging the heck out of me lately. Is it just me or does it seem like more and more companies are taking the approach of rushing products to market before a lot of these fundamental flaws in hardware or software have even been resolved. Cases in...
