I've had Oni for over a month now and it absolutly kicks ass. My only complaint is you have to manually edit the control changes outside of the game (They didn't do much to port it to the PC). Also the game is a bit predictable (How many anime movies have this same plotline heh)

samjlee,
Quality media makes a huge differace. I too have a Plexwritter, but I started using crappy media when I first got the thing. Now the songs I've burned sound like crap, and some of the data I have burned is no longer readable. Do yourself a favor in the long run and buy some good...
For burning data I like Nero. It gives you much more control. For music I like EZ CD Creator, faster to setup and a better GUI than Nero. For copying I like Plextor's software, quicker to setup the burn.

Dell heh. You actually think those Dell P4 systems for $1500 are of any quality? What are you smoking. Tom's Hardware sorta blew that out of the water with his latest review.

I will soon have 512 megs of ram. I run windows whistler beta (But formating that off and putting back on 2000). What do you all suggest for it, I currently use a min of double my ram (64 megs of ram) and a max of a gig. That formula doesn't quite equate correctly when you put 512 in there...
What a shame. Outpost was already had above average prices on things, their free overnight shipping was their only saving grace.
Can't blame them though, I bought two antec fans for $10. I'm sure the overnight shipping was more than that.

I'm a bit of an extremist when it comes to formating in the past few months. I had 98, wiped that to put ME on there. What a POS. Deleted in a few days. Put 2000 on, stable as hell, kept it on there for the past few months. Then I got the bright idea of putting Whistler beta on my drive...
Hey all,
I'm 17, full time student going to a local community. Plan to major in Computer Engineering. I work part time for Dell tech support (And needing to get another job)

Sigh, newbies.
1) Chipset drivers should always be the first thing you install on a new OS.
2) Moving to a new mobo on a system will only cause you instability with your system and delay the inevitable--FFR
3) But Jim, but Jim, I just installed the Via drivers, my system seems to be running...
I never buy any piece of technology when its brand new anyways(Living off a college budget). I just recently bought a geforce 2 32 mb for a 127 shipped (staples deal a month ago). I plan to do the same with the NV20 in a couple years when its time for an upgrade.

I just bought my Antec 1030 case a few weeks ago and I love it. The thing is so spacious!!! I put the normal 80mm Antec fans in there, and the thing cools like a charm. I was surprised also at how quiet it runs for having 4 fan cases as well as a fan on the processor and video card.

Like all new OS's ME is just lacking the stability and compatibility we are used to experiencing with 98se. I work as a phone tech at Dell and you don't know how many problems there are right now with ME compatibility (Granted I deal with mostly idiots, but I've seen some wierd things happen on...
Soon I will be getting a new IBM 7gxp 45 gig drive. I'm wondering what people think of keeping my old drive (5400 rpm ata 66) as a drive for my swap file. Would it be faster or slower than just keeping the swap file on the 75gxp?

I just bought my SB live! 5.1 a few days ago(as well as the DTT2200's). So I get around to testing it and the 5th channel (center) does not work when music is playing (or anything else is playing on the other four speakers). When sound is directed at the center speaker it will work though...
Those PNY's do wear out after a few months or so. Worst was when my windows 2000 disk wore out and I had to scour the globe to find it. I'll never buy cheap cd-r's again.

I work for Dell's tech support. Just remember, if they don't honor your 20% off, you have 30 days from the time they invoice the order to return the system and Dell will do about anything for you to keep your order.
