Those lanes coming from the PCH is exactly the problem. Attaching your m.2 via PCH is a waste of money because the PCH bottlenecks the m.2 performance. Latency is most of the problem. Save your money and get an 850 evo instead.

The Asus boards had the highest falue rates of x99 boards. Biostar has had low falue rates over the past years and good designs, I'd look at that or a gigabyte board. They made some good value x99 boards.

I really don't care how version numbers compare. What I do care about is that they have cut the amount of L3 cache per core in half (you can keep the 0.125 mb).
The 4 channel mobos might have slightly lower OC capabilities. But I personally believe the I7-7740k will be released with quad channel ram and maybe even some extra PCI-e lanes. Anything else just doesn't make any sense to me.

I think the front intake might blow into the DirectCU II cooler hindering heat dissipation. This is probably case dependent, old school cases that have cages in the lower front and maybe putting a HDD between your intake and gpu cooler might help.
Has anyone seen a review on the powercolor r9 290(x) pcs+? It's supposed to be available here on 31.01. and I would really really like to know how the cooling and noise fares compared to the tri-x.
The Hawaii is on top already! It simply has way more processing power in the vast majority of applications. Drawing geometry for certain game engines at certain average fps (=! actual gaming experience! Don't let yourself be fooled, 99th percentile is more important) is just one exception.
In Europe the prices are relatively normal, except for the newest products there is only the usual 10-15% extra tax on top of the US MSRP price.
I'm surprised by the low resonance from the 290 DirectCU II review. I think it's rather good.
