ive not had a single random FPS drop anymore but i dont think i really gained any performance, about the fog DICE said they have a fix for it but its not in this patch lol
im a diehard BF player always have been and i agree 100% it should have been delayed but the big shots over at EA didn't want it to bump into titanfall and they wanted to be out before CoD ghost
i dont agree however when it comes to the beta drivers... that is what beta means to test and use...
over on battlelog people are saying theres a memory leak with AMD cards in windows 8 and has something to do with the beta drivers (witch is required to use mantle) i rarely play more then 2 or 3 rounds in a row so ive not experienced it myself
ugh... what? you mean with nvidia cards? i have windows 8.1 installed and still gained over the 45% advertised boost with mantle
i7 920 OC to 3.2
12 gigs DDR3 ram 1600
290x OC to 1100/1450
windows 8.1
max fps with ultra on mantle 180 min 120
max fps with ultra on DX 120 min 60
that's in MP...
all the mantle hate seems to come from people who also own nvidia cards.... wonder why
ive yet to run into anyone who owns a card that the 14.1 beta drivers are optimized for that is disappointed by mantle unless they just cant get past the bugs and have yet to be able to get a stable running...
someone posted this over on battlelog, people also need to remember theres only been one BETA driver released so far that supports mantle its far from finished

i got my 290x the day it came out for BF4 and paid $570 it also came with a free copy of BF4 so if you ask me i only really paid $510 US for it since i was buying the game anyway also the 290 wasn't released at the time.
the 'cryptocraze' would stop me from buying a second one so there's no...
http://oi57.tinypic.com/2nlh251.jpg http://oi60.tinypic.com/2hnqddj.jpg i took these awhile back, for some reason mantle looks brighter but if you adjust the brightness settings they look the same but i didnt want to play with any settings to show the compassion this is only on the test range...
i know this has been replied to 10 times already but i can say it from first a hand experience i have a i7 920 OC to 3.2 and a 290x card so i am CPU bottlenecked and i play a ton of BF4 online, with DX id get dips into the 60's some times even the 50s but with mantle i never dip under 120 fps...
i have to say im blown away by the performance of mantle and sad these drivers are so broken, and i have one of the so called card's they focused on 290x playing with mantle BF4 feels soooo smooth like you're gliding on ice on maps where id dip into the 60's i now never drop under 120 its...
i went hunting for that in device manager but couldn't find anything, under display adapters theres only the AMD radeon R9 200 series
i have a x58 MB i7 920 if anyone knows where to look plz let me know :|
this is really weird not sure how to put this
after the first install of the new drivers 14.1 it works AMAZING i gain literally 50 fps in BF4.... then if i turn off my PC and come back and try to play the game ether works at half the FPS i use to get or not at all and just crashes
but if i...
that's pretty ridiculous the press gets the driver 24 hours before the public.... i can see if its a game where they need to get reviews done in time for the launch but this is for something we already paid for and have been waiting a long time for
Thank you, this is the exact situation im in... people seem to think along the lines of building a new PC but not everyone is in the same boat
i have an older i7 920 and went out and got a 290x to play BF4, i didn't feel like building a whole new PC for one game and i bet im not alone
