Sorry to hear about the damage:thumbsdown:
I bought a Vizio P-55 and it is excellent for a monitor paid $1100
it is a 120hz ISP panel, very low input lag of 17ms and it does double duty as my 4K TV for streaming movies and watching downloads.
I did NOT want to gamble ordering online for the...
Is this why ONLY SOME of my games are locking up(black screen but with audio on some) with my gtx 980 classified? I tried numerous drivers and still have this problem?
I am not using AB to overclock but i do like to use it for the OSD and fan profile and on some games(mostly older titles) i get...
I still love my EVGA 780ti superclocked that i push a little further but i will admit the 970 is a awesome card for the $$$.
Had i not bought the 780ti for $500 before the 900's came out i would have just went with a 970 and clocked it to its max.
I do have one complaint about my 780 and that is...
I built a back up tower and wanted to ask if i can install my Win7 home premium sp1 64 bit OS on it then buy a key to activate it?
Or do i have to buy another copy of the OS?
The microsoft site keeps directing me to all Windows 8.1 links?:
it is overly obvious that you are ONE OF THEM!
guys that think they know every [redacted] thing about gpu's and have to spout their big [redacted] mouths off in every thread!
I was NOT talking to you so [redacted] and [redacted]

I am playing watch dogs(1920x1080) on a 780 classified with 3g vram and have no issues at all?
I max everything except AA, i use temporal AA not MSAAx8
the highest my Vram got was 2.8g when playing this game so i dont understand this thread or others like it where you need all this vram...
thanks. i really cant wait that long so since the 770 is not really leaps and bound better than what i have now i will go with the 780
I just hope i dont regret the 780's 3G's of ram verses the 4G's with the 770?
I just had the same basic dilemma and i vote gtx 780. I just ordered a super clocked version with 6g vram.
it will be more future proof than a 770 but also is a more powerful card.
the only downside is the 770 has 4gb of ram and the 780 is 3gb.
Normally this would not be a issue but lately...
yeah i agree, it has me thinking all kinds of stuff over 2g of vram on cards now whereas before i never gave it a thought.
was in the mindset that 2-3g's was plenty for 1080 single monitor gaming.
I have a i5 3570K oc'd to 4.3ghz and have a gtx 780 superclock 6G on the way
will i be able to set this pretty much maxed?
I also have 16g of kingston RAM
I ordered a GTX 780 6Gb version instead of the 3g one because i dont want to be at the mercy of this type of thing again.
I like open world and ultra textures and from what i am reading that uses Vram?
I did not see the point of getting the 3gb version just to save $40 even if i never need...
TBH i think Ubi bit off more than it can chew this time.;)
the gaming community as a whole is furious over the mess WD turned out to be on release. Maybe that will get Ubi on the ball and get WD all patched up and any future games will be much better from launch?
I got lucky i am still waiting...
whats wrong with me? I keep forgetting that!
you are absolutely right, so until i see it on MY monitor looking like that i will
stay thinking of the downgrading.;)
Ps, there is a guy called CY on the posts of the YT vid that brings up some really excellent points!
MTDEW, yeah i think you got it. thanks.
the way the evga guy was talking the patch was available now?o_O
I cant feel bad for these companies cause they are more about the money and not the customer, they rush these games out for a platform that is not even ready yet or wont play without issues...
I completely agree with you that for a game with "underwhelming" graphics
it is much to demanding on a PC's GPU and CPU and does not work right anyway.
what do you think of these graphics?
it is the SNOW DROP engine
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njfj6KwEAfg
I like them a lot more than WD's...
yeah its the game for sure, here check this out,
right now it is a mess!
http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/watch_dogs_vga_graphics_performance_benchmark_review,1.html
yeah i am reading about different probs with it.
One thing for those that were wondering about the textures
i found this chart which shows the regular 760 set to high whereas the 4gb version 760 can be set to ultra...
I just got off the phone with EVGA and the rep told me that there was a patch released that now will run a 3gb card run WD smoothly without the stutter?
Can anyone confirm this? i have not been able to find anything about this elsewhere?
Me too! ;)
especially with graphics that totally immerse the player in the scene.
I actually just bought a new GPU just to play this(and very possible) very near future games so i could get the most eye candy!
I am just wondering how far this will go?
When i seen this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njfj6KwEAfg
i was like how much better can PC graphics get?
I think that looks amazing for a game!!o_O
If evga did not offer a 6Gb version of the 780 i would totally agree about the 290's but since they do offer a regular and overclocked version i bought the 780 sc.
the 290's have to bad a rep for me,so many i read about complained about heat issues or driver probs? AMD does not really update...
I feel for ya and ALMOST made the mistake of getting a 3gb version cause it was a FTW edition.
turns out that i will be much better off with the 780 superclocked 6GB version for only $40 more.
Luckily for me i had posted this question here before ordering but in your case evga did not offer them...
yeah i agree and am a little upset that evga did not offer these earlier for those that went and bought a 780 a ways back.
I kind of got lucky and just settled for a 760 the last two years and now i am glad i waited, of course the 800 series will probably make me say "Why didnt a wait some...
I wont touch AMD but thanks for the suggestion,it is a good one for someone that uses AMD.
I pretty much made up my mind to get the evga 780 sc 6g but just trying to cover all bases before sending the $500+ to evga;)
I understand and from what i gathered here and elsewhere i am still feeling the 6Gb card is the better choice.
OK i agree i "may" never need more than 3g at 1080 but i keep thinking to myself for $40 more it is available if i ever should need it.
Who knows maybe i WILL get a higher res monitor...
Thanks attic you have been a big help understanding all this stuff.
Most if it is new to me. I am just now really getting into gaming before i was more of a "casual" gamer and did not care about graphics and such
but now it MATTERS! LOL!
I think i will go SMAA with ultra textures and...
Unfortunately for me you guys are right, there is NO way to avoid future
hardware from having to be replaced.
I wanted to set my 780 like this guy did,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vj0rmX_6BCA
he is using TXAA x4 and ultra texures on a 3g 780
My card will have a faster factory clock not sure...
This is my thinking with my luck i would buy the 3g only to find out in a year that i now need 4G or more.
I am buying the 6G version for the mere $40 more.
better to be safe than sorry when spending $500+ for a Gpu right.
No as i edited that info in on my last post after you asked this, i will be at 1080 single monitor for several years from now.
Plus i am thinking that this extra Vram is only $40 more?
if it were say $100-150 more i would care but $40 not so much
