In the bios, you just need to specify boot order. So just check to be sure the drive you want is set to boot before the data drive. Or you can even remove all other drives all together so they won't even be checked for booting.

well if you paid a grand for your motherboard, you were overcharged :D I'm not sure how or if you can test a motherboard yourself... so unless someone knows of a way, you would be best off taking it to a local shop to see if they can test it. And as a final resort, call Asus and say your board...

Sorry, I should have clarified, the paperclip is used on the big ATX power connector. You should see a green wire, then a series of black wires next to it. So using the green and the farthest black one away. I don't think it matters which ground you use, but on the phone they told me just to use...

Floppy disks are soooo useful!

Even if it is true (I didn't read the article) , you know how slow floppy drives are... could you immagine trying to transfer 32 megs at that speed? Painful. EDIT: I just read the thing and saw 600K/s transfer rate... I thought this would allow 32mb disks to be used in regular floppy...

The band doesn't even get a dollar I don't think unless you're like metallica or some crap. But I gaurntee I can go into most stores around here and find almost all of the larger bands with CDs at LEAST 15 dollars or higher.. I know I've paid 17.99 for a CD before, that's just a load of crap...

way to check usb device bandwidth usage in win2000?

Yep. Go into device manager and look for your USB stuff. Under Host Controller properties there should be an Advanced tab with bandwidth usage.
