Operating system deals....I think....Help me validate these.

It is not a pricing error. This is just the media of win 2k server. Businesses that have open license agreements with microsoft buy one set of media and purchase licenses online. Of course if you had a serial you could install it, but if you were going to pirate why even buy the media.

I would goo with Small Business Server 2000, it has all the components you need. A friendly interface to hold your hand in the beginning and it is optimized to run on a network where it acts as the Primary Domain Controller and the Exchange server, among other things.

If he wants to access specific shares on the vpn network set up a bat file. Inside the bat file type "net use (drive): \\host\share" this will map specific shares to drive letters. You could also write this in your log on scripts. That is how I got around netbui.

How can I setup DNS server to share one internet connection?

IIS server will not remedy his problem. What he needs to do is set up his proxy server. Connect the external ip into nic0, and on nic1 give it an internal address. Then set up your proxy server. Go to Miocrosoft Technet for help

What is happening is that it is negotiating with the router during the boot. I am not sure if this is the point of time when your ip is being leased but I can tell you that my computer does do the exact same thing and I don't believe that it is anything to worry about.
